Baker's "The Gentleman's Companion: Being an Exotic Drinking Book or Around the World with Jigger, Beaker and Flask", the Remember the Maine is the perfect cocktail to showcase an aged single malt like the Glenfiddich 18 year old. Similar to a Sazerac in its use of Absinthe, that is where the similarities end. Either way, it is an elegant cocktail that derives it's name from the USS Maine that sunk in Havana Harbour in 1898.
