The International Concert Orchestra is directed by Nathaniel Shilkret for Victor Records. The recording was made May 1926 in Camden, New Jersey and is one of the earliest microphone recordings. Information concerning the International Orchestra is sketchy but it was most likely one of several orchestras maintained as studio orchestras by the Victor Talking Machine Co. which was a successful and wealthy company in the 1920s. The record was sold as a two sided 12 inch Victor Black and Gold label. Thanks to Mike W. and the Gustav Groos Estate of San Antonio, Texas for entrusting me with the Groos collection for one year to record, restore, and share.
