US Marines landing in Peru raises concern over national sovereignty

The Peruvian Congress issued a resolution approving 28 visits by U.S. Marines to Peru to provide military training and 'exchange experiences' on war against drug trafficking and rebel armed groups. Critics of the resolution say it might give the United States an opportunity to conduct intelligence work that would violate the national sovereignty of Peru and other South American countries. teleSUR
