00:00Latin America commemorates Indigenous Resistance Day in recognition of the indigenous people's
00:04heroism facing the Spanish colonization. The countries of the region remember the emblematic
00:09date according to their culture and idiosyncrasy, such as in the case of Bolivia, where the day
00:14of decolonization exalts the recovery of its people's self-determination. Meanwhile, Ecuador
00:20seeks to make visible the impact of Spanish colonization on the day of interculturality and
00:24plurality. The date represents for the peoples of the region the rescue and vindication of
00:29anti-imperialist struggles. And in Venezuela, a heartfelt ceremony was held at the National
00:41Pantheon to commemorate 532 years of indigenous resistance. Vice President for Politics,
00:46Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, led the ceremony together with representatives
00:51of the indigenous peoples. The hoisting of the three-colored flag in the National Pantheon,
00:55they honor the martyrs of the struggle against the Spanish invasion in 1492.
