Venezuela: Parliament approves Enabling Law

The Venezuelan National Assembly approved an Enabling Law granting President Nicolas Maduro executive powers to respond to US threats and defend the country's national sovereignty. The law was approved by the necessary 2/3 vote of the legislature. Meanwhile, tens of thousands attended a rally in Caracas yesterday in which Maduro announced a massive petition campaign for 10 million signatures demanding that the White House lift its sanctions on Venezuela. teleSUR
