Q & A What to look for when hiring a wedding photographer? Part 4 – Price

The last important ingredient when looking for a photographer is the price. Every couple and every wedding is going to have a budget and you’re going to need to find a photographer that is within a price range that you feel comfortable with. The price range for a photographer varies from quite cheap to don’t even call me for under many, many thousand dollars, so there’s a wide range. You have to find someone who fits within your budget. The suggestion I give or the advice I give is for sure hire a professional photographer, don’t hire your friend or a friend of a friend who is a hobby photographer and made offers to shoot your wedding. The photos are the one thing that you’re going to take away at the end of the event and it’s the one thing that you’re going to have as a memory and have as a tangible thing to hold onto and look at after the wedding.

It’s worth spending some money as with many things you get what you pay for. You can hire somebody who’s just starting out and has only shot a few weddings and it might go well but it’s also risky, you don’t know what you’re going to get or you can hire someone who has a lot of experience and has shot a lot of weddings and has a system in place and a way of doing things where they’re able to deliver consistent results and you can feel confident, part of it that you’re going to get great photos at the end.
So whatever your budget is, it’s important to have a budget and to try and work within it but I would recommend getting the best photographer that you can within that budget and try to not cheap out on the photographer to save a few dollars. I think its one area that should be a priority for couples because it’s the one tangible thing you have at the end of the event.
