Peru: Indigenous Communities Negatively Affected by Oil Extraction

Oil extraction in the Peruvian Amazon region is taking its toll on local indigenous communities. In the Loreto region, Block 192 has proven oil reserves worth US$7 billion and accounts for 20% of national crude production.
