Bolivia: Teachers and Students Work Online

In most schools in Bolivia, cell phones are strictly forbidden in class. A few schools, however, are beginning to use apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram as a new way to learn. The students and teachers form WhatsApp and Facebook groups online. Teachers then set tasks and projects, and students hand in their homework online. The next day the test results are announced publicly and the homework shared among classmates. Many teachers say that special educational apps are replacing traditional ways of teaching and that results are improving. Dimitri O’Donnell reports from LA Paz for teleSUR.
