Peru: Fujimori Accused of Maintaining His Political Involvement

Former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, in prison for crimes against humanity, is being of accused of continued involvement in the country's political life, albeit from behind bars. He granted an unauthorized interview to a foreign media outlet supporting the presidential candidacy of his daughter Keiko. Fujimori is also reported to have received 653 visits in the past 3 months, reflecting his high level of activity in prison. Opinion polls put voter support for Keiko Fujimori at 30%.
