Mexican federal police arrested Ivan Cazarín Molina on Wednesday in the town of Tlajomulco de Zuniga near Guadalajara. Said to be the second in command of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Cazarin Molina is believed to be the mastermind of an attack last May 1 that downed a military helicopter, resulting in the deaths of police and military servicemen. Federal authorities responded with an attack on the town of Tanhuato, Michoacan, in which 42 civilians were killed. Authorities claimed they were members of the New Generation Cartel, but many independent investigators say it was a massacre. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico for teleSUR.
