NEW YORK — A Brooklyn teen got a taste of karmic justice on Friday when he got mowed down by an SUV after stealing a pair of sneakers from an enraged father of three.

Zachary Sam, responding to a Craigslist ad, was supposed to be buying a pair of Jordan Retro 8 sneakers from 39-year-old Philippe Pierre, but the gun-packing teen had other plans in mind and demanded the $190 sneakers for free, according to a New York Daily News report.

Too bad for Sam, though, his victim, wasn't one to take a robbery lightly. Pierre pulled a U-turn and ran his Honda SUV right into the thieving teen, pinning him against a fence and severing the 17-year-old gunman's arm in the process.

A lawyer for Pierre, who's now facing an attempted murder charge, said the teen reaped what he'd sown.

"I don't mean to be harsh, but I think Mr. Sam in a sense was getting what he deserved," said defense attorney James P. Harding, according to the report. "My client is an absolute victim in this case."

While doctors are a nearby hospital were reportedly able to reattach Sam's arm, the teen isn't out of the woods just yet and is expected to face charges for his role in the whole incident as well.
