Théatre Landy Vola Fotsy Madagascar (EXTRAIT)
C'est l'histoire d'une troupe de théâtre peu commune. Comédiens, saltimbanques mais surtout paysans, les artistes de Landy Vola Fotsy sillonnent les pistes malgaches depuis près de 40 ans. Dans les villages les plus isolés, ils jouent Molière, Brecht ou des créations familiales. Sur scène et en coulisses, tout est fait en commun, les hommes se consacrant à la mécanique et aux tâches administratives, les femmes étant dévolues aux fonctions ménagères.
Une quinzaine de personnes composent aujourd'hui la troupe dont six enfants d'Odeam Rakoto, le fondateur. Leur dernière tournée, financée par la Banque Mondiale, est consacrée à la lutte contre le Sida et nous entraîne dans l'est du pays.
This is the story of an out of the ordinary theatrical company. Comedians, acrobats but especially farmers, the artists of Landy Vola Fotsy have travelled all over Madagascar for about 40 years. In the most isolated villages, they give performances of plays by Molière, and Brecht and sometimes ones which they have created themselves. On stage and backstage, everything is done together. The men concentrate on the mechanics and on the administrative tasks whilst the women carry out the domestic cores.
Today, there are about fifteen people in the troop, six of whom are children of Odeam Rakoto, the founder. Their last tour, financed by the World Bank, is dedicated to the fight against the AIDS and is taking place in the east of the country
