We can add a great personality of the Jamaican reggae history and a sublime singer to the lineup of the Sunsplash 2012. After his beginnings in a duo with Ernest Wilson and after his apprenticeship at Studio One in the end of the seventies, Freddie McGregor has put all his talent in crucial works which influenced the roots reggae produced by the important label of Brentford Road and Niney The Observer. His songs also contain a hint of reggae lover.
In 1982 the dancehall yards all over the world were dancing to the rub-a-dub rhythm of his 'Big ship', produced by Linval Thompson: This track and the homonymous album made Freddie become an important interprete of the Jamaican tradition. He has also released new versions of old classics of rocksteady and early reggae.
The dynasty Mc Gregor continues with his son DJ Daniel 'Chino' McGregor who will perform together with his own father during the show at the festival.
