OLD TRAFFORD: England, after winning the toss, were 95 for one at lunch on the first day of the second Test against Pakistan at Old Trafford on Friday.
Alastair Cook, the England captain, was 40 not out and Joe Root 41 not out. Alex Hales was bowled by Mohammad Amir for 10.
At the toss, England Captain Alaitair Cook was delighted after winning the toss, saying “happy with getting the choice”.
Misbah too wanted to bat but downplayed his regret with a statement: “It’s a “matter of staying disciplined whatever you do first”.
But although Adil Rashid, all of whose three Test appearances came against Pakistan in the UAE last year, made it into the 12, the Yorkshireman was left out on Friday.
