MOUNT SHASTA, CALIFORNIA — A California mom was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly having sex with three football players from Mount Shasta High School.
Mary Frances Fletcher, 42, who also goes by the name “Debbie,” met the teens last year while helping a photographer friend who was taking pictures of the football team, CBS-affiliate KTVL News10 reported.
Police alleged that Fletcher seduced the three underaged boys beginning in September of last year and had sex with them repeatedly. Fletcher’s alleged interactions with the teens were put on hold after an unidentified tipster informed Mount Shasta police.
Before arresting Fletcher, officers took more than two months to initiate a grand jury investigation into the case, finally doing so on Dec. 8. Fletcher, however, was not arrested and charged until Tuesday this week. She is out on $10,000 bail and will be back in court for arraignment on March 22.
District Attorney Kirk Andrus says cases like these are never easy. He says he’s trying to be sensitive to the victims, as they are not ready for this kind of interaction with adults.
The rape counts are separated for each victim: two counts with two victims and two counts with one victim. Authorities said text messages and phone calls prove that Fletcher tried to keep one of her victims quiet about the allegations.
