This is a live view of EPCAMR's Brook Trout Tank. We have raised these fish from eggs and will eventually release them to an TIC approved stream. Most of the time you are going to see a live view of the tank, but during maintenance and feedings we will set the camera up for viewers to watch how it's done. Brook Trout are very sensitive to changes in water biology, chemistry and temperature. Because of that they are a "canary in the coal mine" indicator for stream health.
Pennsylvania's statewide Trout In the Classroom (TIC) program is made possible through a unique partnership between Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited (PATU) and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC). This partnership provides curriculum resources, workshops for teachers and program partners, technical support, brook trout eggs and food, and grants.
