A huge fire ripped through the Land Management Bureau (LMB) building and a neighboring structure that houses the National Archives of the Philippines in Manila in the early morning hours of Monday, May 28.The blaze began shortly after midnight at the LMB building at Plaza Cervantes in Binondo, Manila, and spread to nearby structures, Rappler.com reported.The NAP, which is responsible for keeping records from the Spanish and American colonial periods, occupies the third floor of the building that was hit by the fire. Jocelyn Reyes, an NAP official, told Rappler that the office was used solely for administration and all Spanish documents were stored in the National Library at Kalaw Avenue, Manila.
