Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has barred MPs from traveling outside the country until next Thursday to ensure constitution implementation bill are approved.
Muturi made the communication during this afternoon's sitting where he said the move is meant to ensure MPs attend House sitting and participate in parliamentary debates on the 9 bills currently before the House.
Parliamentary protocol requires that MPs get clearance from the Speaker before traveling abroad.
Muturi was on Wednesday forced to postpone debate on a special motion seeking the House approval to extend the period to enact constitutional bill to next august after it was established required 233 MPs threshold to vote on the matter was not realised.
