The three-hour long meeting between the Foreign Ministers of India and China in New Delhi was useful, cordial and productive, said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin.
Stating that it was a new productive beginning between the Indian and Chinese governments, Akbaruddin said that the latter supported the development of India.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had called upon Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday afternoon in New Delhi where they are believed to have discussed a number of key issues involving the two nations. This was the first meeting between the two nations ever since the change of guard at the Centre in New Delhi.
