It's so easy to quickly fall in love with the Netherlands for its beautiful natural scenery, the vibrant and tolerant character of its citizens and unique make up of its cities. The seat of government is in The Hague, yet, the capital city, as per the constitution of the Netherlands is... Amsterdam. And it needs little introduction or explanation as it's a tourist hotspot endowed with amazing museums, elegant streets and canals and a nightlife often cited as one of the world's greatest. No matter where you are in the Netherlands, you'll quickly be tempted to travel by bicycle due to the country's flat terrain and well developed infrastructure. The Hague might be a little calmer than Amsterdam, yet visitors enjoy its monuments, seaside boulevard and a city scape that's got its own miniaturised model called Madurodam. The Windmills of Kinderdijk were built in the 18th century to prevent the nearby plains from flooding and are the country's largest concentration of windmills. Efteling is the country's largest amusement park and probably one of the most surreal. Visitors love the tales of Dutch myth and legend as well as its lush gardens.
