Learn how to make Fish Biryani at home with Chef Smita on Ruchkar Mejwani.

Fish Biryani Recipe is a non veg tasty dish which is origin of north India. It has many tasty spices as an ingredient. Fish biryani is one of the popular Hyderabadi delicacies, almost every Hyderabadi restaurant serves this dish. This Fish Dum Biryani is a perfect start and you will love how well the fish blends with the flavorful rice and masala. We Used Salmon fish to make this recipe but you can use any fish of your choice.

Ingredients:
1 kg Indian Salmon (rawas)

For Marination
2 tsp Garlic Paste
2 tsp Ginger Paste
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt
1/2 Lemon Juice

For Gravy
4-5 tbsp Oil
2 Bay Leaf
2 inch Cinnamon Stick
5-6 Black Peppers
5-6 Cloves
3 Cardamoms
3 Onions (chopped)
5 Green Chillies (slit)
1 tsp Ginger Paste
1 tsp Garlic Paste
3 Tomatoes (chopped)
1/4 cup Water
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Coriander Seeds Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala
1/2 Lemon Juice
1/2 Water
Salt
1/4 cup Mint Leaves
1/2 cup Coriander Leaves

For Fish fry
1/4 cup Oil

For Biryani
1/2 kg Basmati Rice (al dante)
1 tbsp Saffron Milk

Methods: Lets start with making the Marination for which Garlic Paste, Ginger Paste, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt & Lemon Juice mix it all together and apply it to the fish then keep it aside for 30 minutes. Next preparation of the Gravy for which heat up the Oil and then add Bay Leaf, Cinnamon Stick, Black Peppers, Cloves, Cardamoms, Onions (chopped). Next fry it till Onion turns golden brown then add Green Chillies (slit), Ginger Paste, Garlic Paste and let it cook for few moments. Next add Tomatoes (chopped) and mix it together. Now add Water and let it cook for 2-3 minutes and then add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Seeds Powder, Garam Masala and let it mix for 15 seconds then add Lemon Juice, Water, Salt, Mint Leaves, Coriander Leaves now switch off the flame and put the Gravy aside. Next lets fry the Fish for which Heat up the Oil in the Pan then add fish to fry from both the side for 2 minutes each side. Next lets make the Biryani for which take Basmati Rice (al dante) and layered with the Gravy in the pot (as shown in the Video) then keep the Fish on top of the Layered Rice and Gravy with Mint & Coriander Leaves then cover it with the Rice on top with Oil and saffron Milk pour on top of it. Next cover it with the Cloth and close the lid to cook for 10 to 15 minutes on low flame. Now your Fish Biryani is ready to serve.
