MANILA – Three beauty queens have decided to dish out details about their pageant experiences as well as their beauty secrets in a book. Speaking on “Mornings@ANC” on Wednesday, former Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, 2006 Binibining Pilipinas-International Denille Lou Valmonte and Karen Loren Agustin-Ostrea, who represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2002, shared how they came up with the book “The Secret of Beauty Queens.” “We’ve been friends for a while already. We took a trip to Hong Kong last October. While we were there, we decided to write a book since pageants are big right now. All of us wanted to write a book ever since. And we just decided to do it together,” she said. Noting that now is the right time to release such a “handbook,” Quigaman said they agreed to merge their ideas and share their knowledge to beauty queen hopefuls. “We’ve never heard of a book like that in the Philippines. We decided this is the time so we can help girls who really want to join but they don’t know how,” she said. The book discusses tips on how to prepare for a pageant from coming up with the right poses and walks to giving the right response in the question-and-answer portion. It also includes the experiences of Quigaman, Ostrea and Valmonte when they were still the reigning queens. With the Philippines performing very well in international pageants, the three beauties believe their book could help those aspiring to represent the Philippines internationally. The book is to be released this month and it will be available at Fully Booked, National Bookstore and Powerbooks.
