Cancel Culture Impoverishes Both the Heart and the Intellect. Call-out culture (also known as outrage culture) is a form of public shaming that aims to punish individuals and groups, by calling attention to behavior that is perceived to be offensive, usually on social media. A variant of the term, cancel culture, describes a form of boycott in which someone (usually a celebrity) who has shared a questionable or unpopular opinion, or has had behavior that is perceived to be offensive called out on social media is "canceled": they are completely boycotted by many fans, often leading to massive declines in celebrities' (almost always social media personalities) careers and fanbase.Even Lefty Bill Maher Blasted Cancel Culture: ‘P.C. People Protect Feelings’ - Comedian Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” minced no words in his denunciations of the SJW Twitterati and their perpetuation of cancel culture in a recent interview with The New York Times Magazine. Maher said the politically correct are products of a coddled generation who want only to protect their sensibilities, but who unfortunately control the media far too often.

“The people on Twitter are the people who control the media a lot,” Maher said. “They’re the millennials who probably grew up with helicopter parents who afforded them a sense of entitlement. They are certainly more fragile than previous generations. Trigger warnings. Safe spaces. Crying rooms. Microaggressions. That crowd feels like anything that upsets their tender sensibilities is completely out of line.”

Maher went on to say that Democrats have no choice but to eliminate this radical fringe from its party if they want to have a chance at winning the 2020 election.

“The most important thing that the Democrats can do to win the next election is to broom this element out of their party and stand up to the Twitter mob and the ultrawoke,” said Maher.

After reflecting on his childhood and how his liberal parents taught him the doctrines of Martin Luther King, Maher went on about how leftists keep changing the rules to entrap people. He took particular issue with the fact that the maxim used to be a color-blind society but now has morphed into a color-conscious society.

“The difference is that liberals protect people, and P.C. people protect feelings,” he said. “They don’t do anything. They’re pointing at other people who are somehow falling short of their standards, which could have changed three weeks ago. They’re constantly moving the goalposts so they can go, “Gotcha!” For example, when I was growing up, the most liberal thing you could do is not see color. Well, that’s wrong now. You see color, always, so you can register your white privilege. But I grew up in the Martin Luther King era: Judge by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. I still think that’s the best way to do it. Not see it.”
