Learn how to make Delicious 'Mutton Curry' with our chef Smita Deo.

Homemade Mutton Curry is incredibly Rich & Flavorful. Tender mutton pieces, flavorful curry and the aroma, is what makes this Basic Mutton Curry special.

Ingredients For Onion-Coconut Paste:
(Serves 6)
- 1 Onion(sliced)
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Coconut(grated)
- 1/2 cup Dried Coconut(grated)
- 5 Green Chillies
- 7-8 Garlic cloves
- 1 inch Ginger
- Water

Ingredients For Mutton Curry:
- 3-4 tbsp Oil
- 1 Onion(chopped)
- 1 tbsp Ginger, Garlic & Coriander Paste
- 1 Kg Mutton
- 1 Tomato(grated)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- Onion-Coconut Paste
- 1 ltr Water
- Salt

Method:
1. Roast sliced onions in a wok, till it changes its color, and then, add oil
2. Mix it and let it turn golden brown in color
3. Add grated coconut to the wok, and roast them till it turns brown in color
4. Now, add grated dried coconut to the wok; mix it and add green chillies, garlic cloves, ginger
5. Fry it for around a minute, and turn off the flame
6. Let it cool down, and ground it in a mixer, with the help of some water
7. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, and add chopped onion to it
8. Saute it, till it turns soft and pink in color
9. Add ginger, garlic & coriander paste to the cooker, and fry it till the raw smell goes away
10. Now, add mutton to the cooker, and saute it on a high flame for around 3-4 minutes
11. Add grated tomato to the cooker, and fry it for around 3-4 minutes
12. Now, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and saute it
13. Once the oil starts separating, add grounded onion-coconut paste and mix it
14. Add 1 ltr of water to the cooker; add salt and mic it
15. Now, pressure cook this over a high flame for 3 whistles, and then, turn the flame to medium-low to let it cook for more 15-20 minutes
16. Take it out in a bowl and serve it
