Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has decided to initiate contempt of court action against MACC and its chief over the release of nine audio clips last week, purportedly of phone conversations between Najib and several individuals.

This was confirmed by his lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah today.

"Yes, we have decided. But I can't tell you the details," he told Malaysiakini when met at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex this afternoon.
