00:00An investigating officer told the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Tuesday that Datuk Seri Najib Razak
00:06tried to impede the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's probe on one Malaysia development burhad.
00:12Senior Officer Nur Aida Arifin testified that the former Prime Minister had instructed
00:18several actions to restrict MACC's investigation during his time in office, including closing the case.
00:26Najib's lead counsel, Tanshri Muhammad Shafi Abdullah, however, argued with the witness
00:32that she did not have direct evidence to prove that Najib made the instructions.
00:38The matter was raised during cross-examination at Najib's 1MDB graft trial on Tuesday
00:44when Shafi questioned Nur Aida if there were any restrictions from Najib during the investigation.
00:51The lawyer then zoned into Nur Aida's answer about the no-further-action instruction
00:57from former Attorney General Tanshri Muhammad Apandi Ali.
01:01She said the proof came from a document containing talking points
01:05that was seized from Najib's former special officer, Datuk Amhari Effendi Nazaruddin.
01:11Najib is on trial for 25 charges in total, four for abuse of power that allegedly brought him
01:17the financial benefit to the tune of 2.28 billion ringgit and 21 for money laundering
01:23involving the same amount of money.
01:25The hearing continues.
