In Jammu and Kashmir’s Block Development Council (BDC) elections, highest voting was done in Srinagar, said Chief Electoral Officer of J&K, Shailendra Kumar. “As per the report we received till 1 pm, total voting percentage was 98.3%. Highest voting was done in Srinagar district that is 100% and the lowest was in Pulwama and Shopian as 86% and 85% respectively, Chief Electoral Officer further added. BJP got 81, Indian National Congress 1, Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party 8, BSP 0, Independent 217 - total comes to 307. On being asked whether anyone on record from National Conference or PDP said that they were boycotting polls, Kumar replied, “They had not sent me anything in writing whether they are contesting or boycotting or supporting, I can't answer on their behalf.”
