A WOMAN has revealed how she has fallen head over heels in love with a man locked up in prison more than 1,000 miles away. Britnee, 30, was idly scrolling TikTok in search of tips on how to get the perfect "revenge body" when a video about prison penpals caught her eye. At the time, romance was the furthest thing from her mind - not least because she had been dealing with a divorce after her 10-year marriage came to an end - but she was intrigued.
"I wanted to work on my body so I thought, 'These guys have prison workouts, they probably know more than anyone'," she said. So, Britnee downloaded an app that connects inmates with penpals, and while trying to figure out how to use it, she unknowingly sent a request to Michael, 34, who is currently serving a sentence for aiding and abetting aggravated assault. He replied, and the pair began chatting. "We started talking every day," she said. "In the beginning, I'd think, 'What am I doing? He's in prison, how is this going to work?' But I realised that he is a good guy - he just got caught doing stupid stuff." Before long, Britnee and Michael developed romantic feelings. Keeping in touch via video and phone calls, they fell for one another without meeting in person. She has faced some difficult questions from loved ones about her relationship, but is adamant she has found the one and says Michael has even helped her overcome her own preconceived ideas about prison. She said: "People have their opinions, but Michael makes me happy and everyone deserves love."
