The Asphalt Jungle (1950) HD

An asphalt jungle is the big city in whose slums the fight for gold and wealth rages on. Doc, a thief in yellow gloves, studied, in the idleness of the prison where he was serving the sentence inflicted on him, a cunning plan to get hold of a batch of jewels kept in the safe of a jewelery shop. Once released from prison he makes contact with Alonzo Emmerich, a shady lawyer and refined pleasure seeker, who provides him with the money necessary for the execution of the plan by borrowing it from a loan shark, Cobby. The operation is conducted with great skill but a gunshot, fired by a night watchman, kills Ciavelli, the main perpetrator. The division of the loot causes a shootout between the gang members: another bandit is killed, a third, Handley, is wounded. Finally, Doc entrusts Emmerich with the task of negotiating the transfer of the jewels to the company with which they are insured. Stopped by the police and suspected of complicity, Emmerich kills himself, while the arrested loan shark confesses. The police hunt for the last two: Doc flees, but, recognized during the escape, is captured. Handley is forced to have his wound treated and, recognized by the doctor, runs away and bleeds to death.
