Barbara Chase-Riboud: Infinite Folds / Serpentine North Gallery

The exhibition Barbara Chase-Riboud: Infinite Folds at Serpentine North Gallery looks back at over seven decades of work of the artist, novelist and poet Barbara Chase-Riboud. It’s the first UK solo exhibition of Barbara Chase-Riboud who was born in 1939 in Philadelphia, USA, and lives and works in Paris. Chase-Riboud’s innovation in sculptural technique and materiality is characterized by the interplay between folds of cast bronze or aluminium and coils of wool and silk which are knotted, braided, looped, and woven. The exhibition Barbara Chase-Riboud focuses on her large-scale sculptures alongside works on paper dating from the 1960s to the present day. The show runs until 29 January 2023.
