AI Jobs Boom with VC Backing

There were nearly 800,000 job openings related to roles in artificial intelligence in 2022, as venture capital firms and large tech companies invest billions of dollars in AI technology. California, which is the home of OpenAI, Google, and Meta, led the boom with more than 142,000 positions posted in 2022. Texas came in second with over 66,000 followed by New York with over 43,000 and Florida with over 33,000. Private industry research far exceeded that of academic research. Private companies and think tanks produced ten times more AI models than academic research.
