00:30 - Welcome to BBQPitBoys.com.
00:33 In our continuing quest to reinvent
00:35 the same old, same old hamburger,
00:38 we're showcasing here the mini beer can
00:40 bacon burger of sorts.
00:42 But we're just substituting shot glasses for the beer cans.
00:46 And of course, it's real easy to do.
00:48 Alright, I've got some ground chuck here.
00:50 You want ground chuck for a good burger
00:54 with about 80 to 85% lean to fat ratio.
00:59 And here I'm just seizing them up,
01:02 making meatballs, alright.
01:04 Now, if you've never seen us put together
01:08 our now infamous beer can bacon burger,
01:11 you definitely gotta check it out.
01:14 Just search for us on YouTube or the web, alright.
01:17 But here, we're making bacon burger whiskey shots.
01:22 And you start these meatballs, like I said,
01:26 get 'em about that size,
01:27 and you take your favorite shot glass
01:31 and you form the meat right around the shot glass,
01:35 just like that.
01:36 Simple enough, right?
01:40 (upbeat music)
01:42 Oh yeah.
01:49 Now, you wanna take some pork belly bacon,
01:52 regular slice or even thin cut slice,
01:57 and just wrap it around.
01:59 And it'll stick like glue.
02:01 Oh, man.
02:02 And then, just pull the shot glass out.
02:10 And what you're left with is a bacon and beef bowl.
02:15 Oh, and you're gonna be able to stuff it
02:17 with what you like.
02:19 Now, just in case you fell asleep during that last shot,
02:23 let me show you how to do it again.
02:26 Ooh, man.
02:26 Oh, man.
02:27 Oh, man.
02:30 I make a vegematic become a meat eater.
02:35 Again, take that bacon and wrap it.
02:39 (upbeat music)
02:44 Got it.
02:56 Now, you could pre-make a bunch of these beforehand,
02:59 keep 'em in the refrigerator,
03:01 bring 'em out when you're ready to fire up the pit.
03:05 Alright.
03:09 Look at that.
03:15 Nice bacon bowl right there.
03:18 And through the miracle of time,
03:22 we made up six of these.
03:25 Be sure to make a bunch,
03:27 'cause they're gonna go real fast in your pit.
03:31 Again, just pull that shot glass out.
03:39 And you're left with a bacon beer bowl.
03:44 Oh, man.
03:45 Alright, let's grill these up.
03:50 Now, we're using indirect grilling here.
03:52 We've got the charcoal on one side.
03:55 And I'm gonna place these bacon burger whiskey shots
03:59 opposite them, alright?
04:01 I'm gonna set the grill temperature about 300 degrees,
04:07 because we want plenty of time
04:08 for that bacon to wrap around tight.
04:12 You cook it too high of a temperature,
04:14 you might just blow this whole recipe.
04:16 So just keep it kind of medium heat.
04:18 Like I said, about 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
04:22 Now, here's the magic.
04:25 You're gonna fill each one of these bowls
04:27 with your favorite stuffin'.
04:30 And here, I've got some roast beef and potato hash.
04:35 Or here, I've got some mashed potatoes.
04:38 Or how about some breakfast sausage?
04:45 You use what you like.
04:47 That's what makes these awesome.
04:50 And here, I've got some chili beans going in.
04:54 And there's some hot ones too.
04:57 Or how about some diced tomatoes and jalapeno peppers?
05:02 Or how about some brown gravy
05:10 for the top of them mashed taters?
05:12 And throw on some mushrooms too.
05:18 Now, pick your favorite cheese
05:20 and you wanna chunk 'em up like this
05:22 because you want the cheese to slowly melt
05:25 onto these bowls.
05:27 Use your favorite cheese.
05:29 You could use maybe a mozzarella,
05:34 or a cheddar jack, or just cheddar.
05:37 Whatever you want.
05:39 And how about this for breakfast?
05:41 Crack an egg.
05:42 Farm fresh egg.
05:47 And here.
05:47 How about some slices of jalapenos on that bean chili?
05:55 Now, put the cover on.
06:03 It's gonna take about maybe an hour.
06:06 In the meantime, give yourself a shot.
06:10 We call this pit master privilege.
06:13 (rock music)
06:15 Alright, we're about a half hour into this,
06:21 maybe a little bit more.
06:23 And what we're gonna do is move 'em around a bit
06:26 so we get some even cooking going on.
06:29 Oh, they look good enough to eat already.
06:34 But we're gonna wait just a little bit more.
06:37 Now, remember, everything we stuff these with
06:39 has been pre-cooked.
06:42 So we're basically waiting for that bacon
06:44 to cook on the outside.
06:45 You can get it the way you want.
06:48 Alright, about another half hour.
06:57 And before you had time enough to go to the refrigerator
07:01 for another beer, these bacon burger whiskey shots are done.
07:05 Take a look at that.
07:08 Jalapeno and cheese.
07:11 Mmm.
07:12 Lord have mercy.
07:22 We're having breakfast too.
07:25 Now, let me show you what these look like inside.
07:36 This here is the chili and beans.
07:41 Take a look at that.
07:42 You getting hungry or what?
07:47 How about that egg?
08:10 And of course, we do apologize for eating in front of you
08:13 like this, but we call this pit master privilege.
08:17 So the next time you're looking for a recipe
08:40 for your pit, pub, or bar, check out BBQPitBoys.com.
