01:04 Talk about dramatic, a plane crash caught on camera.
01:09 Actually, multiple cameras inside the aircraft
01:12 and outside the aircraft and in the pilot's hand.
01:16 29-year-old Trevor Jacobs documented his terrifying
01:20 near-death experience in 2021 when the engine failed

01:34 The video titled "I crashed my airplane" posted on YouTube went viral.
01:40 Viewers watched the plane slam into brush
01:43 in the Los Padres National Forest
01:45 and a parachuting Jacob eventually land and hike to safety.
01:50 -I guess I should probably document what's going on.
01:54 I cut my finger pretty bad, got my elbow.
01:59 I'm just so happy to be alive.
02:01 -But in true Hollywood fashion, it was all scripted,
02:05 an elaborate stunt.
02:07 -Taking in what just happened.
02:09 Well, where the hell am I going to land a freaking plane?
02:11 I'm going to die.
02:12 That's why I always freaking fly with a parachute.
02:15 No phone service.

02:22 -This week, long after surviving in the wilderness,
02:26 Jacob pleaded guilty to a felony charge
02:29 of obstructing a federal investigation
02:31 after admitting to intentionally crashing the TaylorCraft BL-65
02:37 to get views on his YouTube channel.
02:40 A plea agreement reveals he had sponsorship from a company
02:43 that sold various products, which he would promote.
02:47 The scheming social media personality lied to federal investigators
02:51 trying to locate the wreckage
02:53 and recruited a friend to help him get rid of the mangled metal
02:57 in the mountains, according to the Justice Department.
03:01 -Oh, my gosh, dude.
03:03 I have no idea where I am.
03:07 -But he knows where he may be heading,
