00:00:00 the word of God.
00:00:03 The lord gave me a word in 1st Samuel chapter eighteen verse
00:00:15 one through eleven and I can't wait to share it with you and
00:00:19 I've been praying. I'll do a good job because the word is is
00:00:22 waiting to me. Second Corinthians II Corinthians eight
00:00:29 four. Oh, I'm still on the offering text. I'm sorry. Lord
00:00:35 have mercy. Jesus. I'm off to a bad start. Y'all better pray
00:00:38 harder. Somebody wasn't praying. Okay. Okay. I'm blame you.
00:00:43 First Samuel eighteen and one. And David, now this is this is
00:00:49 let me not just throw it on you. This is this is a powerful
00:00:55 moment. There's so much to be preached out of this text. I
00:01:01 could preach 10 weeks on this text and not exhaust the
00:01:04 significance of this text and yet it is seldom talked about.
00:01:08 But I'm gonna preach a perspective of it today that I
00:01:12 think is important. Teach, share, however God does it, I
00:01:16 don't care. After David had finished talking with Saul,
00:01:22 Jonathan became one in spirit with David and he loved him as
00:01:29 himself. That's what love is. When you love somebody like you
00:01:36 love yourself. From that day, Saul kept David with him. And
00:01:43 did not let him return home to his family. I want you to pay
00:01:48 attention. No, go back. I want you to pay attention. From that
00:01:51 day, Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home
00:02:00 to his family. From that day, that day. Somebody say that
00:02:05 day. Give me my next verse. And Jonathan made a covenant with
00:02:11 David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the
00:02:17 robe he was wearing and gave it to David along with his tunic
00:02:23 and even his sword, his bow, and his belt. Whatever mission Saul
00:02:32 sent him on, David was so successful that Saul gave him a
00:02:37 high rank in the army. This pleased all the troops and Saul's
00:02:42 officers as well. When the men were returning home after David
00:02:47 had killed the Philistines, the women came out from all the
00:02:51 towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing
00:02:55 and with joyful songs and with timbrels and lyres. Hold up
00:02:59 right there. If you got a king, if you got a man, if you got a
00:03:04 woman, if you got somebody who's been out there fighting for you
00:03:07 and they come back with the victory, the least you can do
00:03:14 is sing. You didn't have to bleed. You didn't have to get
00:03:20 cut. You didn't have to get cussed out. You didn't have to
00:03:22 fight. You didn't have to get into argument in the boardroom.
00:03:25 You didn't have to put up with what they went through. You
00:03:27 didn't have to crack concrete. You didn't have to wear a hard
00:03:30 hat. When they come home, be happy. That's a powerful thing
00:03:36 I just told you. Just be happy. If you're a single mother and
00:03:40 you come home to kids, I'm trying to talk to your kids, be
00:03:42 happy when I come home. Don't be fighting when I come home. I
00:03:46 was fighting so you could eat. Don't be fighting when I come
00:03:49 home. Glory to God. This is a principle. This is a principle
00:03:54 and a custom that they did. As they danced, however, they
00:03:57 sang, "Saul has slain his thousands and David his tens of
00:04:04 thousands." That's where the trouble started. Saul copped a
00:04:10 tooth. Well, that's not exactly how it's written. Saul was very
00:04:14 angry but it means the same thing. This refrain, the last
00:04:18 thing they said displaced him greatly. They had credited
00:04:21 David with tens of thousands, he thought, but me with only
00:04:26 thousands. Jealousy. Jealousy. Now, wait a minute. You jealous
00:04:32 of somebody you brought. Ain't that crazy? You brought them
00:04:41 into your house and now you're mad because they're winning.
00:04:44 Isn't that how people do it? As a preacher, I know what it is to
00:04:50 go to a church where they invite you and then be jealous if you
00:04:53 do well. I think, "Well, why did you bring me? You wanted me to
00:04:57 fail?" Saul was very angry. This refrain displeased him greatly.
00:05:05 They had credited David with tens of thousands, he thought,
00:05:08 but me with only thousands. Insecurity. It's not just mean,
00:05:13 it's insecurity. Anytime you can't stand to watch somebody
00:05:16 else be blessed, it's only because of your own insecurity.
00:05:21 Saul says, "What more can he get but the kingdom from your lips
00:05:28 to God's heart?" From that time on, Saul kept a close eye on
00:05:34 David, giving him the funky eye. Amen. The next day, an evil
00:05:42 spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. You see how spirits
00:05:46 need access? See, that attitude gave the demon access to come on
00:05:57 Saul. He was prophesying in his house while David was playing
00:06:03 the liar as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand and he
00:06:10 hurled it, saying to himself, "I will pin David to the wall." To
00:06:15 the wall of the house you invited him in. But David
00:06:20 eluded him twice. All the people who escaped some stuff shout
00:06:25 amen. It's not that they didn't throw it, it's just that it
00:06:34 didn't land. Oh my God. Had to do some ducking. In these 65
00:06:43 years, I have done some ducking. Now, this is what we're going
00:06:47 to talk about, the point of a pivot. The point, the point, the
00:06:54 apex, the point of a pivot. And this is going to be, I'm really
00:07:03 preaching to your instinct, your ability to sense when to pivot.
00:07:10 There is no announcement you have to sense this. This is the
00:07:28 point of a pivot. Holy Spirit, help me to be a conveyor belt
00:07:34 that conveys the truth that you impressed upon my soul in such a
00:07:38 clear and definitive way that it impacts your people today. I
00:07:42 thank you for what you're going to do. In the name of Jesus we
00:07:46 pray. Somebody shout amen. You may be seated. May I
00:07:51 acknowledge the first lady of this house? And may I
00:08:05 acknowledge all of our associate pastors, would you stand? All
00:08:10 of them. All of them. All of them. I could not be me without
00:08:14 you. Thank you for all that you do to make things better for me.
00:08:22 We had a great week. I was watching online as Pastor
00:08:25 Tuttman tried to tear the roof off a Bible class Wednesday
00:08:29 night. It was absolutely incredible. He's on the road
00:08:32 preaching today. He's not AWOL. He's not home drunk. Don't start
00:08:36 rumors. He's out. Because when people don't know they make up
00:08:40 stuff. They just make up stuff so that they can sound like
00:08:43 they know for their friends but no. No, he's out preaching the
00:08:47 gospel and he'll be back. Have you ever had a moment, a time
00:08:52 in your life, went to a meeting or took a job somewhere? Maybe
00:08:59 you just met somebody. And then what might have appeared to
00:09:04 others to be just an ordinary moment and expression and event
00:09:08 and occurrence, no big deal. They didn't pay any attention
00:09:10 to it. But you knew and you didn't know how you knew but you
00:09:14 knew this was the gateway. The door. The moment that was going
00:09:22 to change everything in your life. And you just didn't know
00:09:27 it. You didn't know how to explain it but you get this
00:09:30 feeling that this moment is important. That this is a big
00:09:35 deal. Or moment or speaking engagement or opportunity or
00:09:43 business deal or relationship or contact and you know that it's
00:09:48 more important than it looks like but you don't know why but
00:09:52 there's something in your spirit especially if you're a
00:09:55 worshiper because worshippers tend to be intuitive and
00:09:59 instinctive and you sense something in your spirit that
00:10:03 you don't, you can't even explain in your head. You just
00:10:06 know it. You just know that you know it. That this was
00:10:09 important and it's profound and it impacts you. Sometimes you
00:10:14 have to get out of the moment and try to figure out, "What
00:10:16 was that all about?" Maybe you don't talk to yourself but I
00:10:20 drive home in my car thinking, "I know that was something." I
00:10:26 just don't know what. I met somebody the other day, a
00:10:28 business person that I was honored to meet and it, but it
00:10:33 wasn't like a business meeting. It was like, like we just, like
00:10:37 we knew each other for years and I liked him and he liked me and
00:10:41 we just met each other and we both knew and we talked about it
00:10:44 later that there was something about that meeting that we were
00:10:47 supposed to do something. We don't know what it is. We still
00:10:50 don't know what it is, but it was a pivotal moment. Just
00:10:53 sensed it. I just sensed it in my spirit. We couldn't have been
00:10:56 more different from two different worlds, different
00:10:58 backgrounds, but something happened. I think it's favor.
00:11:03 I think it's favor because he liked me. He had no reason to
00:11:11 like me. There was nothing, you know, other than I'm a nice
00:11:13 person, but he had no reason. I think I'm nice. I like me, but
00:11:16 but yeah, I've always liked me, but anyway, uh, for him to like
00:11:22 me, like he liked me and we sit and I'm talking for hours and
00:11:25 hours. It didn't make any sense. It didn't make any sense, but
00:11:28 it happened. That's the kind of moment we're talking about. Have
00:11:32 you ever made a decision that completely became a metamorphosis
00:11:37 for the rest of your life? It changed everything. Sometimes
00:11:45 it's a decision that somebody makes about you, opens up a
00:11:48 door, invites you to something, brings you to a meeting, invites
00:11:51 you to a party, invites you to a fellowship, and they make a
00:11:54 decision that changes your life and you walk into that
00:11:57 situation and you say, wow, what have I walked into? What I'm
00:12:02 asking you is, have you ever had a game changing moment and you
00:12:08 just knew it and you knew it before it came to fruition, but
00:12:12 you just knew that there was something about this moment that
00:12:15 was special. Jay Simmons has a, has a quote that I want to leave
00:12:20 with you. You put it on the big screens. I want them to have it.
00:12:23 It says, pivoting is not the end of the disruption process, but
00:12:28 the beginning of the next leg of your journey. So the pivoting
00:12:33 is not the end. It's the beginning of the disruption
00:12:38 process. It changes everything about it. Such was this, this
00:12:44 moment, this moment where the Prince meets the pauper, where
00:12:49 royalty meets common, where the King's son meets the shepherd
00:12:58 boy. And it was cataclysmic. It was cataclysmic. It was
00:13:09 explosive. It changed everything. First of all, Saul
00:13:14 brought him into the house and God will make hateful people
00:13:19 bless you. See, the problem with church folks, we, we, we really
00:13:24 don't believe the Word when the Bible says that your enemies
00:13:29 will be your footstools. We're so busy being mad at our enemies
00:13:33 that we don't know where to put our feet. But God can use some
00:13:39body who wronged you to bless you. If you have the attitude to
00:13:44 understand that this is a pivot moment and it's a game changing
00:13:49 moment, and even if it is a raven, it's still food. You
00:13:54 don't figure this out as you live because you're going to
00:13:58 bypass the raven waiting on the maitre d' and God sent the food
00:14:03 through the raven. God fed Hagar through Sarai and they didn't
00:14:09 seem like each other. And when Hagar left Sarai, she left her
00:14:12 blessing because sometimes your blessing is in the hand of
00:14:16 somebody who is emotionally or mentally dysfunctional. But if
00:14:21 it's the right moment, God will use that moment to bless you.
00:14:26 And they go back to being crazy and you walk away with the
00:14:29 blessing. So stop being so afraid to engage people who are
00:14:35 saying something about you or did something to you because
00:14:40 that was in that season. But in this season, God says, "I'll
00:14:47 make your enemies to be your footstools. I'll use the very
00:14:52 person who was against you to turn around and bless you." And
00:14:54 Saul invited David into his house and it changed everything.
00:14:59 I'm going to give you five points that I want you to jot
00:15:04 down and they are the substratum, the skeleton to
00:15:07 everything that I'm going to say today. And if you get these
00:15:10 five points, you can fill in up under these points various
00:15:13 things that stand out to you and leave out anything that doesn't
00:15:16 and you will have gotten the message and you will have good
00:15:18 notes. Okay? So I'm going to help you outline the message.
00:15:26 Number one is preparation. Number two is perspective. I
00:15:31 give you a chance because if you're like me, you type with
00:15:39 one finger. I type entire letters with my thumb. I get
00:15:44 carpal tunnel in my thumb. So number one is preparation.
00:15:50 Number two is perspective. Number three is prophetic.
00:15:55 Number four is provision. And when we get to five, we really
00:16:00 get to the point. Pivot. Somebody say pivot. Yeah. Y'all
00:16:05 are with me. I love this church, boy. I can really lay it on
00:16:15 y'all. Y'all can handle it. Preparation. Everything that
00:16:20 David had gone through had prepared him for this moment.
00:16:26 Nothing that he suffered was wasted. He had gone through a
00:16:32 lot to get to where he is at this moment. He's the eighth
00:16:38 son of Jesse. He is very much disliked in the family, black
00:16:43 sheep of the family. His brothers even derailed him even
00:16:47 when he was bringing them lunch. Sometimes no matter what you do
00:16:51 to help people, they still got an attitude. Here I am, got off
00:16:57 my job, ran down here to bring you lunch and you still got an
00:17:00 attitude talking about me, calling me a vile fellow when in
00:17:03 fact I'm trying to help you. Sometimes the people who you are
00:17:07 trying to help hurt you the worst. He had to go through
00:17:10 that. He had to fight lions and bears to protect sheep,
00:17:15 altercations that could have killed him to get to this
00:17:22 moment. But all of that was preparation for this moment
00:17:26 because it was with dealing with the bear and the lion that gave
00:17:30 him the skill set to kill the giant. So a lot of times you
00:17:35 ask God to save you from something that he's training
00:17:38 you with. I'm talking about preparation. There are tests
00:17:43 that have come into his life and trials that have come into his
00:17:49 life. It would be very painful for a son, for his father to
00:17:54 forget him. But David's father had forgotten him so that when
00:18:00 they came to anoint somebody to be king, he left him out there
00:18:04 in the field. Some theologians suggest that he left him out
00:18:08 there in the field because he didn't really think David was
00:18:11 his. Some theologians say that when he says, "In sin was I
00:18:16 born and in iniquity did God shape me," it's because there
00:18:22 was some questionableness about the authenticity of his birth.
00:18:27 Now, I don't believe that because it's very important
00:18:30 that he be Jesse's son because it leads itself to the lineage
00:18:34 of Jesus Christ. But it doesn't matter what the truth is if you
00:18:39 don't think of me that way. Are you hearing what I'm saying?
00:18:46 Somebody, maybe about two or three people in this room know
00:18:51 what it is to be raised in an environment where you were not
00:18:53 highly thought of. It changes the trajectory of your life.
00:19:01 But it also can be the catalyst that makes you succeed because
00:19:06 you got something to prove. There are the tests behind him
00:19:11 that brought him to this moment. Every one of those tests were
00:19:21 steps of a good man ordered by the Lord to bring him down to
00:19:26 Goliath. Goliath was the usher that opened up the door to the
00:19:32 palace. Goliath was a great thing. You cannot get to your
00:19:38 kingdom till you find your giant. Goliath exposed him.
00:19:43 Goliath gave him attention. Saul wouldn't have paid David no
00:19:50 attention. He's the son of a pauper. He's a shepherd boy.
00:19:54 What does a king have to do with a shepherd boy? Goliath gave
00:19:58 David a platform to show what his trials had taught him. Thank
00:20:02 you, Goliath. Thank you for roaring at me. Thank you for
00:20:10 coming at me with your shields and your swords and trying to
00:20:14 destroy me because you put my talents on display. I have no
00:20:21 bitterness in my heart against my Goliaths because they made me
00:20:25 who I am. There was a woman in Charleston that wrote for the
00:20:29 Charleston Gazette, wrote the first mean article that had ever
00:20:32 been written about me. If I ever meet her, in case you're
00:20:35 listening right now, can I take you out to dinner? I would love,
00:20:38 I'm serious. I'm not mad. I would take you out to dinner.
00:20:41 God really used you. I would love to be a part of that
00:20:46 conversation. I doubt that I would be standing here in
00:20:51 Dallas today if you had not attacked me like you attacked
00:20:56 me. I hold no ill will against you. You became a Goliath that
00:21:01 gave me a platform that created a stage for me. I am so grateful
00:21:06 to you. I am so thankful to you. I am so happy for you. I wasn't
00:21:12 happy at the time. I was angry at the time. That's why you
00:21:16 can't trust your emotions. Today, I am ... It was good for
00:21:19 me that I was afflicted. You made me understand in that
00:21:24 attack that I didn't fit. That was a good thing because I was
00:21:31 determined to fit into a place that I was not supposed to be.
00:21:39 And your attack of me announced to me that they weren't wrong.
00:21:45 I was wrong. I was the right thing in the wrong place and you
00:21:49 shifted me. Oh, thank you, God. Oh, I love you so. I hope you're
00:21:54 doing well because I am. There are the tests behind him and
00:22:12 there are the tests before him. Do not think that because you
00:22:16 come to a pivot point that you are through with tests. The
00:22:20 tests that push you to the pivot point only bring you to the
00:22:25 pivot point that you graduate to another level of tests. The
00:22:30 reward for overcoming this test is the right to fight on the
00:22:35 next level. Look at the preparation that has gone into
00:22:42 making David who he was. Had his brothers embraced him, he would
00:22:47 have stayed. Had his father accepted him, he wouldn't have
00:22:53 moved into Saul's house. Perhaps Saul's invitation to invite him
00:22:57 into the house was alluring to David because David longed for a
00:23:02 father's voice. Perhaps David would not have been willing to
00:23:07 move into the palace for the sake of the drapes and the
00:23:11 pillars, but at the voice of a senior statesman, he moved into
00:23:16 the house. And from that day forward, he went no longer back
00:23:22 home. This is a pivoting moment. Anytime, what is that movie,
00:23:29 baby? That anytime you have a moment where you call everybody
00:23:39 and say, I won't come back home no more. Yeah, you got me.
00:23:44 That's enough. The rest of y'all don't need it. Anyway, that's a
00:23:48 pivoting moment. Delores was in the movie. I know that. Yeah.
00:23:53 David called home and said, I won't be back. You can't
00:24:00 believe I said that. I know, pray for me. You're not
00:24:02 praying hard enough. I won't be back no more. Can you imagine
00:24:07 David calling home telling Jesse, I'm out of here. I'm
00:24:09 gone. I won't be back. Look, look, look at it. It's funny,
00:24:13 but look at it. Look at how open David's heart is to the love of
00:24:18 a father. And God knows exactly what to do to get you to pivot.
00:24:33 And so David pivots and moves into the house and Saul was the
00:24:37 bait. Saul was the bait, but Jonathan was the hook. Because
00:24:42 in the moment that he reached after Saul, he met Jonathan. And
00:24:52 when he met Jonathan, it was sometimes you do a thing and the
00:24:57 thing is not the thing that you thought it was going to be, but
00:25:01 it's the thing that leads to the thing. So don't be so busy
00:25:07 being depressed about the thing that didn't work because the
00:25:10 thing that didn't work led you to the thing that did work so
00:25:14 that you can have an encounter with God. Are y'all with me?
00:25:16 Everything that he has gone through has prepared him for
00:25:21 this moment. That's why you don't despise anything that
00:25:27 happened to you. Anything that you went through, no matter how
00:25:31 tough, no matter how difficult, it's taken you somewhere. If
00:25:35 you got that, I could sit down. If you got that, the very thing
00:25:40 that you grieved about, worried about, feel sorry for yourself
00:25:43 about, say, "Why me, Lord?" If you understood that that is a
00:25:47 conveyor belt that is ushering you into your destiny, that
00:25:51 these light afflictions, which are but for a moment, work for
00:25:54 us a far more exceeding way to go. Why we look not at the
00:25:58 things that are seen, for the things that are seen are
00:26:00 temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal. I can
00:26:03 remember what I can remember, but I can't see what I can't see
00:26:06 because it's going to be. But everything that I went through
00:26:08 ushered me into everything that I'm about to do right now, and
00:26:12 it gave me the grace to pivot because I am loyal to a fault. I
00:26:17 would have stayed in that house. I would have stayed trying to
00:26:20 convince him that I was a good person. I would have stayed
00:26:24 running up and down the hills, bringing them lunch. I would
00:26:27 have stayed in the desert, writing poetry, singing songs,
00:26:31 taking care of sheep and shoveling sheep dung because I'm
00:26:33 loyal. So God had to send something strong to make me
00:26:38 sure. I want to talk to my loyal people in the house. Loyal
00:26:42 people get hurt because loyal people expect loyalty. And when
00:26:46 you sow loyalty and you don't reap loyalty, it will shatter
00:26:50 you emotionally, April, because you're saying, "I don't deserve
00:26:54 this." And you're right, but God is using something you don't
00:26:57 deserve to bring you into something that you do deserve.
00:27:01 Oh, come on, somebody. Everybody who's ever had their heart broke,
00:27:09 been disappointed, cried themselves to sleep, sat up all
00:27:13 night worrying about yourself, woke up at 3 o'clock in the
00:27:16 morning, walking around in the house by yourself looking dumb,
00:27:19 holler, "I'm in preparation." Everybody who had to fight stuff
00:27:24 that was bigger than you, things that scared you to death and you
00:27:27 didn't have the kinds of weapons to be in the fight you were in,
00:27:31 shout, "I'm in preparation." Everybody who's ever been hated
00:27:35 on, people been jealous of you while you were just struggling
00:27:38 to make it through the best way you could, shout, "I'm in
00:27:41 preparation." You might not even know what you're in preparation
00:27:45 for, but you know God and you ought to get happy because God
00:27:48 is preparing you. He's taking you somewhere. He's got
00:27:52 something greater for you. And the greater the preparation, the
00:27:56 greater the promise. The greater the preparation, the greater the
00:28:00 prophecy. The greater the preparation, the more God is
00:28:03 going to use you. I'm so glad I was afflicted. If I had not been
00:28:08 afflicted, I couldn't stand what I go through now. But God was
00:28:12 preparing me, turning up the heat. So what you call putting
00:28:16 the heat on me is my normal. I eat bad stuff for breakfast because of what I've
00:28:22 been through. Who am I talking to in this house? Yeah, yeah, yeah, touching three people and say
00:28:31 preparation, preparation, it's preparation. The trial is preparation.
00:28:36 The test is preparation. The adversity is preparation. The crime is preparation. The
00:28:42 divorce is preparation. The loneliness is preparation. It's preparation. It's
00:28:47 preparation. You wouldn't have discovered that you were that tough if you hadn't
00:28:50 gone through preparation. You didn't even know you had that talent. You didn't even
00:28:54 know how to handle things by yourself. You learned because God put you in a
00:28:58 state of preparation. I need 30 seconds of praise for people who are praising
00:29:03 God for preparation.
00:29:06 [applause]
00:29:08 Now, let's go on. Number two is perspective. He is coming to this new
00:29:24 environment. He is coming to a new environment. Now this is going to hit
00:29:28 some other group of people. You're coming to this new environment where your
00:29:32 gift has brought you into a room that has not, that you do not have what you
00:29:42 need to be where you are. So picture with me, he's sweating, he smells, he's got
00:29:57 sheep hair on him and dung on his shoes. He's been fighting a giant and he hasn't
00:30:09 been home for a bath. And now they brought him into a palace. He's walking
00:30:18 around on granite floors and marble columns and cascading drapes that puddle
00:30:24 in the floor. He's sitting in a situation where women are carrying water on their
00:30:30 shoulders to pour bath water for the king. He's sitting in an environment, a
00:30:36 palatial environment, where culinary skill artists are preparing exquisite
00:30:41 cuisine for the royal family. And yesterday he was out there with nobody
00:30:49 around him but sheep. I'm telling you God can put you in a room so fast that you
00:30:57 don't have time to get your hair done. You don't have time to get your nails
00:31:01 done. You don't have time to read a book on protocol. You're just standing up in
00:31:06 the palace bowing at the servants. You don't know who to bow at. You don't know
00:31:11 what name to call them. God's getting ready to shift somebody so quickly.
00:31:18 And if anybody walked into the palace and David was there, he appeared out of
00:31:28 place. Watch this. You gotta be willing to appear. See a lot of y'all can't do
00:31:39 that because if you don't get it said that they died they was acting funny
00:31:43 when I came there and they was looking at me like they was so much and I left. I
00:31:47 quit. I resigned. I was stupid.
00:31:52 You resigning from your own destiny. You resigning from your own purpose. You're
00:31:58 resigning from what God called you to do and you're gonna be out of place for a
00:32:02 while. It's okay. I know you smell right now. I know you don't have the right
00:32:07 clothes right now. I know you don't have the degrees they have but if God invited
00:32:12 you into the room, walk up. Walk up in that room. Walk right up in that room. Say
00:32:19 good morning. Somebody say good morning.
00:32:34 Now the king has invited him into the room and the king's son has loved him as
00:32:45 himself. One person out of the whole palace loves him. All you need is one.
00:33:01 The love of one will open up the whole system to you. He loved him as himself.
00:33:14 What kind of love is this? Oh God I can't preach this fast. What kind of love is
00:33:20 this? This inordinate affection people have struggled to understand it. What
00:33:25 kind of love is this? The reason they struggle to understand it is because
00:33:29 it's a shadow of the love of Christ. It's the unsearchable riches of Christ's love.
00:33:36 It's the undeserving love of Jesus Christ that David didn't do anything to
00:33:42 earn it. He didn't do anything to justify it. He just walked into it. That's how I
00:33:48 got saved. I just walked into. I just walked into an everlasting love. I just
00:33:55 walked into an environment with my stinky self and I came in and he loved
00:34:01 me with an everlasting love.
00:34:15 Now I find myself in a situation. I can find myself in a situation. Come here. No, not you baby.
00:34:27 Come on. Yeah, come here for a minute. Come here for a minute. We're gonna do something for a minute.
00:34:32 Take your jacket off.
00:34:35 [Laughter]
00:34:37 Yeah. Now, take it off. That's right. Give us a minute. It's gonna be worth it. It's gonna be worth it.
00:35:00 I want you to put my jacket on.
00:35:04 [Applause]
00:35:06 Now, that's a nice jacket you got on. That's a custom jacket you got on.
00:35:15 No disrespect, but this is a store-bought jacket you got on.
00:35:20 [Applause]
00:35:22 That's as far as it's gonna go.
00:35:27 [Applause]
00:35:30 [Applause]
00:35:32 Watch this, watch this, watch this, watch this. I love Joseph. I know he loves me.
00:35:44 We got the love thing going, but we don't have the fit.
00:35:54 How many times do we love people
00:36:00 that we don't fit with?
00:36:09 The unseen miracle in this text is not just that they loved each other, but God
00:36:18 has so predestined this connection that without any tailoring, adjustments, sewing
00:36:25 machines or corrections, everything that was on Jonathan sits on David. Give me my coat back.
00:36:37 Touch me people say it fits, it fits, it fits, it fits, it fits, it fits, it fits, it fits my
00:36:43 background. It fits where I came from. It fits my contours. It fits my uniqueness. It
00:36:48 fits who I am. It fits where I came from. God will put you in a situation where it
00:36:53 fits, it fits, it fits. That's the miracle that people miss. The likelihood of two
00:36:58 strangers meeting and fitting perfectly is very unlikely. One of them would be
00:37:03 tall, one of them would be short, one of them would have a gut like me, one of them
00:37:07 would not have a gut, and they'd be built like him. But the fact that these two
00:37:11 people met, loved each other, and their clothes fit means that God is up to
00:37:17 something. Anytime you walk into something and it just fits, God is up to
00:37:22 something. Who am I preaching to? I'm talking to somebody I don't even know
00:37:26 who it is.
00:37:29 Come back Joseph for just a moment. We gonna act like it fit and it don't, but
00:37:38 we gonna act like it fit. I chose you because it wouldn't fit because I want
00:37:41 to show people how many times we get yoked up with people that don't fit us.
00:37:47 And there we are trying to force. If I would have kept trying to put your
00:37:54 jacket on, I would have ripped it. I had to have the sense enough to discern that
00:38:04 what looks good on you does not work on me. And I have to know that it doesn't
00:38:11 fit so I won't be foolish enough to be spending the rest of my message walking
00:38:17 around in a jacket that I don't fit. But let's make believe that it fit and that
00:38:25 I'm wearing your jacket and you're wearing mine. Let's just pretend that it
00:38:29 fits. In the exchange, he gives him his tunic, he gives him his robe, he gives him
00:38:37 his sword. Oh my God. And it all fit. And all of a sudden it means a whole lot of
00:38:47 things. I won't exhaust all of them but it means this, if I give you my sword it
00:38:52 means I'm defenseless against you. If I give you the sword it means I give you
00:38:59 the power to hurt me. If I give you my shield that means whatever you
00:39:08 send out against me I'm gonna bleed over it. If I give you my tunic I have made
00:39:16 myself naked before you, I have exposed myself to you. It means I trust you. If I
00:39:26 give you my robe you didn't have to hem it, you didn't have to tailor the sleeves,
00:39:30 it all fits you. It means you are walking around, just walk around like you Bishop
00:39:37 Jakes, just imitate me like you do at home, just walk around. Yeah, yeah. And all of a
00:39:47 sudden he is walking in my clothes which changed the perspective of how people
00:39:58 see him. You see this is not just about protection, this is not just about armor,
00:40:06 this is about perspective because they took a misfit and redressed him and made
00:40:14 him to fit in an environment he didn't fit. I don't know who I'm talking to, thank you.
00:40:19 I don't know who I'm talking to but God said he's already got your tunic ready,
00:40:23 he's already got your robe ready, he's already got your sword ready, he's
00:40:27 already got your shield ready and even though they're looking at you kind of
00:40:30 funny right now, after a while God's gonna dress you for what's next for you.
00:40:34 God's gonna dress you for what's next for you. God's gonna dress you for what's
00:40:39 next for you and it's gonna change their perspective. This is bigger than any
00:40:45 satirical style, this is not about fashion and coordination, this is about
00:40:50 identity, this is about transformation, this is about metamorphosis, this is about
00:40:55 turning a shepherd boy into a prince. There he was, one moment he's dressed
00:41:00 like a shepherd boy and the next moment he's dressed like a prince and he didn't
00:41:05 pay for any of it. God's gonna give you stuff that you didn't pay for, houses
00:41:10 that you didn't build, vineyards that you didn't grow. He's gonna change your
00:41:14 perspective until you look like you got more than you got and that's why you got
00:41:19 haters because the haters can't understand how a girl like you could be
00:41:23 in a position that you're in but God has reserved some stuff that's just for you
00:41:28 and what God has for you, God has for you. No devil in the hell can take what God
00:41:34 has for you. He's been waiting on you to get to such a time like this. Slap
00:41:40 somebody, slap somebody. That's how I'm getting ready to change the perspective,
00:41:45 getting ready for a transformation. My old friends may not like it but get
00:41:50 ready for a transformation. God is opening up a new door and a new
00:41:54 perspective and he's getting me ready and I'm not gonna be walking around
00:41:58 looking like Bobo the fool. In a minute I'm gonna have everything I need to fit
00:42:03 where I am, whoever I'm preaching to. If this feels like a word from God for you
00:42:08 holler at your boy, holler, holler.
00:42:18 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So stop praying about what you don't have, stop
00:42:24 worrying about what you don't have. God's already taken it in consideration and
00:42:29 when you get to the right place the provision is gonna be there. When you get
00:42:33 to the right place everything you need is gonna be there. When you get to the
00:42:36 right place God's already got somebody who's gonna like you well enough that
00:42:40 you don't even have to pay for it. They're just gonna lay it at your feet
00:42:44 and when you put it on it's gonna look like yours and you're gonna be walking
00:42:48 in a palace that you didn't own, that you didn't build, that wasn't in your lineage,
00:42:52 that wasn't from your, it wasn't even from your family but what God has for you
00:42:59 he's gonna have for you. Whoever built your house didn't know they was building
00:43:04 it for you. Whoever built our house didn't know they was building it for us.
00:43:08 They thought they was building it for somebody else but when God's got
00:43:12 something for you he'll let somebody else do the hard stuff and all you got
00:43:16 to do is put it on and the Holy Ghost told me to tell you don't be afraid to
00:43:21 put it on. I don't know who I'm talking to but you're coming to a season where
00:43:26 you gotta put it on. You gotta put it on and wear it like it's yours.
00:43:37 And the pauper is wearing the princess clothes.
00:43:44 You don't look like what you've been through. You can't even tell people your
00:43:55 real testimony. If they knew the neighborhood you came out of and what
00:44:00 you was raised up in and what happened to you they would never understand you
00:44:04 standing up in the potter's house singing in the choir but what God!
00:44:10 Let me go further I gotta hear number three.
00:44:23 What God!
00:44:34 Somebody that's walking around in prince clothes just take a quick strut.
00:44:39 Just a strut, just strut, just strut.
00:44:43 This is mine. This is me now. This is me now. This is me now. This is me now. This
00:44:50 is where I'm at now. This is what he's doing right now. Forget what he was doing
00:44:54 back there. I might have been funky yesterday but this is what I got on now.
00:44:58 Look at how he covered me. Look at how he dressed me. Look at how he blessed me.
00:45:02 Look at how he prepared me. Look at what he did in my life. You wouldn't believe I
00:45:06 was on drugs. You wouldn't believe I've been raped. You wouldn't believe I've
00:45:10 been through hell. You wouldn't believe I was a victim of domestic violence. Now
00:45:13 I'm running a business. You wouldn't believe where the Lord. Look where he brought me from.
00:45:19 Look where he brought me from.
00:45:23 Brought me out of darkness into the marvelous light.
00:45:29 Look where he brought me from.
00:45:33 Look where he brought me from.
00:45:37 Look where he brought me from.
00:45:43 He brought me out of darkness into the marvelous light.
00:45:49 Look where he brought me from.
00:45:53 Give him a little Holy Ghost praise.
00:45:57 The only way.
00:46:13 You gotta be old to know that song.
00:46:16 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:21 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:26 He brought me out of the darkness into the marvelous light.
00:46:31 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:36 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:41 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:46 He brought me out of darkness into the marvelous light.
00:46:51 Look where he brought me from.
00:46:59 [applause]
00:47:06 Oh.
00:47:11 Yes.
00:47:16 Oh, yes.
00:47:21 I'm about to pivot.
00:47:26 [applause]
00:47:36 I dare you to think about where he brought you from.
00:47:45 Number three, we're going back to school.
00:47:47 Number three, the fact that the clothes fit a stranger,
00:47:56 the fact that the clothes fit a pauper,
00:48:01 the fact that the clothes fit a stinky boy,
00:48:10 the fact that the clothes fit a broke boy
00:48:16 means it's number three prophetic.
00:48:20 When something fits you that wasn't even supposed to fit you
00:48:25 and it doesn't make any sense that it fits you,
00:48:38 when you feel at home in a place you wasn't even raised
00:48:45 and all of a sudden he's adorned the meek with salvation
00:48:53 and given you the garment of praise
00:48:55 when you was living in the spirit of heaviness and it fits,
00:49:01 any time it fits, it's always prophetic.
00:49:11 It's prophetic.
00:49:13 That means that God knew that David was to become Jonathan.
00:49:28 [applause]
00:49:35 So he entered into the new door as someone else.
00:49:43 And you sitting up talking about, "This is just how I am.
00:49:45 I got to be myself. I got to be truly me.
00:49:48 I didn't just shut up."
00:49:51 Why do you believe in salvation if you insist on being how you are?
00:49:56 Because salvation came to change how you are
00:49:59 and you are so in love with how you are
00:50:01 that you don't understand who God has designed you to be.
00:50:06 Maybe in total contradiction to everything you've experienced
00:50:10 up to this present moment.
00:50:19 It's prophetic.
00:50:21 Let me show you why it's prophetic.
00:50:23 There's two things about David that's interesting
00:50:25 and they seem totally different.
00:50:28 David is a fighter.
00:50:32 He could fight.
00:50:36 He could fight.
00:50:38 You jump on David, you had a bad day.
00:50:42 I don't care how the odds were against him, he could fight.
00:50:45 I don't care if you're big as Goliath, he could fight.
00:50:48 I don't care if it was a hundred foreskins of the Philistines,
00:50:51 he could fight. He could fight.
00:50:53 He was healthy, he could fight. He wasn't bad by himself.
00:50:55 He could fight.
00:50:57 He fought lions and bears and tigers and stuff.
00:51:00 David can fight.
00:51:01 You can fight when you can fight a lion.
00:51:08 He was a fighter and he was a praiser.
00:51:19 Most men have trouble praising
00:51:26 because they hold on to the fighter
00:51:30 and they fake the praise.
00:51:34 But David had mastered when to do battle
00:51:39 and when to back.
00:51:46 The reason David was so good at fighting and praising
00:51:52 is because David was not from their tribe.
00:51:57 They were from the tribe of Benjamin
00:52:00 where kings came from.
00:52:03 David was from the tribe of Judah.
00:52:10 Judah means praise.
00:52:13 That means his great-great-great-great-great-great-
00:52:16 great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather
00:52:18 was named Judah by Leah.
00:52:22 In fact, the tribe of Judah didn't even have no business
00:52:26 in the house of the tribe of Benjamin
00:52:29 if it were not for prophecy.
00:52:32 And when that boy took his coat off and put it on Judah,
00:52:38 [speaking in Hebrew]
00:52:44 This is more than two boys.
00:52:46 These are two tribes switching
00:52:49 in the prophetic destiny of the Messiah.
00:52:53 And it was good for them to have this moment
00:52:56 because they pivoted in that moment.
00:53:01 Judah has entered into his destiny through David.
00:53:07 Watch this.
00:53:08 Look at Genesis 48, 8 through 10.
00:53:10 Just zoom it up.
00:53:11 You ain't got to go to it.
00:53:12 There it is right in front of you.
00:53:13 "Judah, thou art he, whom thy brethren--"
00:53:16 This is Jacob talking from his deathbed.
00:53:19 "Judah, thou art he, whom thy brethren shall praise.
00:53:23 Thy hand shall be in the neck of your enemy."
00:53:27 You're going to be praised and fight.
00:53:30 "Thy father's children shall bow down before thee."
00:53:34 Come on.
00:53:35 Judah is a lion.
00:53:37 No wonder David could whip a lion.
00:53:39 He is a lion.
00:53:40 Judah is a lion.
00:53:42 All my praisers make some noise.
00:53:44 [cheers and applause]
00:53:53 Judah is a lion's whelp.
00:53:56 I don't have time to preach this,
00:53:57 but somebody please preach this for me.
00:53:59 He's a whelp. He's a lion's whelp.
00:54:00 He's a lion's kid.
00:54:01 "From the prey, my son, thou art gone up.
00:54:05 He stooped down.
00:54:07 He couched as a lion and as an old lion,
00:54:12 who shall rouse him up."
00:54:15 Here's the kingdom.
00:54:17 "The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
00:54:22 nor a lawgiver from between his feet
00:54:26 until shallow the Messiah come.
00:54:30 And unto him shall be the gathering of the people be."
00:54:36 Little did they know that the transference of clothes
00:54:42 is the transference of roles,
00:54:45 is the transference of the kingdom,
00:54:48 is the transference of authority,
00:54:50 is the transference of power.
00:54:52 Slap somebody and say, "It fit me."
00:54:55 I don't understand how it fit me, but it fit me.
00:54:58 It fit me.
00:55:00 I didn't even go to school for it, but it fit me.
00:55:03 I didn't get the training for it, but it fit me.
00:55:06 It's because it's prophetic.
00:55:07 I was predestined to be in the role that I'm in.
00:55:10 Somebody's looking at you and saying,
00:55:12 "How did a girl like her get a man like him?"
00:55:14 It fit me.
00:55:16 Somebody's looking at you and saying,
00:55:17 "How did a guy like him get a woman like her?"
00:55:19 It fit me.
00:55:20 What God has for you is for you.
00:55:24 I want somebody that got something
00:55:26 that don't make any sense
00:55:28 to praise God for the prophetic power
00:55:31 that move you into a position of influence.
00:55:35 [cheers and applause]
00:55:38 Can I go deeper? I'm almost finished.
00:55:45 But I feel the anointing of the Holy Ghost
00:55:47 about to take over this room
00:55:49 'cause somebody I'm speaking to right now,
00:55:52 you're at the pivot point.
00:55:54 Things are about to shift in your life.
00:55:57 Somebody in here has been a praiser and a fighter.
00:56:00 You had to fight with one hand and praise with the other.
00:56:04 I want my warring praisers to go into a war praise.
00:56:09 Can you give me 30 seconds, 60 seconds,
00:56:13 90 seconds of a war praise?
00:56:16 I'm soft enough to worship,
00:56:19 but I'm bad enough to war.
00:56:22 I'm soft enough to praise Him,
00:56:25 but I'm strong enough to be powerful.
00:56:28 I want the real war praisers.
00:56:30 Praise is my weapon.
00:56:32 Praise is my defense.
00:56:34 Don't let my dance fool you.
00:56:36 I'll fight my way in.
00:56:38 I'll fight off the enemy and still praise my God.
00:56:43 And every time I get the victory, I'm gonna dance.
00:56:46 Every time I get a breakthrough, I'm gonna dance.
00:56:50 Every time God opens a door.
00:56:53 [cheers and applause]
00:56:56 No, no, no. I'm hearing from church folks.
00:57:06 I want to hear from some fighters.
00:57:08 Give me 100 fighters that'll jump out in the aisle
00:57:11 and praise Him like you mad.
00:57:13 Praise Him like you lost your mind.
00:57:15 Praise Him like you ain't got no sense.
00:57:17 Praise Him like you don't care what you got on.
00:57:19 Praise Him like you don't care what you look like.
00:57:21 Praise Him like you glad for what God brought.
00:57:24 Look where you're going!
00:57:26 [cheers and applause]
00:57:29 Yes, yes.
00:57:39 I can praise Him on Sunday and fight on Monday.
00:57:43 I can fight on Monday and praise Him on Tuesday.
00:57:47 I can praise Him because I'm a praiser.
00:57:51 I am Judah.
00:57:53 I might smell bad, but I'm Judah.
00:57:56 I might not have on stilettos, but I'm Judah.
00:57:59 I might have on stilettos, but I'll kick 'em off
00:58:03 and go into praise and give God the glory
00:58:06 because it was my praise that brought me here.
00:58:10 If you know it was your praise that brought you to this point,
00:58:15 take a minute and praise Him like you know it was God.
00:58:19 You might be watching online, but praise Him!
00:58:24 Touch a neighbor and say, "Excuse me, but I gotta praise Him.
00:58:39 Give me some room, but I gotta praise Him.
00:58:41 I gotta show you what tribe I'm from.
00:58:44 I'm not from Benjamin. I'm from Judah.
00:58:47 I came up praising God.
00:58:49 I praised Him on powdered eggs.
00:58:51 I praised Him with powdered milk.
00:58:54 I praised Him with government cheese.
00:58:56 I praised Him with hand-me-down clothes.
00:58:59 I praised Him in the storm.
00:59:01 I praised Him with cancer in my body.
00:59:04 I praised Him when I was swollen.
00:59:06 I praised Him when I was weary."
00:59:08 Let everything that have ground praise Him!
00:59:15 Do what you can, devil, 'cause I'm gonna do my best.
00:59:25 I'm gonna work this place.
00:59:27 You can flash the lights.
00:59:29 You can act a fool.
00:59:30 You can do whatever you want to do,
00:59:32 but there's too much Judah in this room to stop this glory.
00:59:37 It's about to take over this house.
00:59:39 It's about to take over this house.
00:59:42 It's about to take over this house.
00:59:44 There's too much Judah.
00:59:46 Yeah, that's it.
01:00:04 I got that hurry. I got that hurry.
01:00:07 Number four is provision.
01:00:10 Number four is a provision.
01:00:14 Four is provision.
01:00:17 Four is provision.
01:00:19 Four is provision.
01:00:21 Shake hands with somebody and tell 'em,
01:00:23 "God's got you covered."
01:00:26 Whatever is facing you, God's got you covered.
01:00:29 Whatever you got to deal with, God's got you covered.
01:00:32 He's already made provision for what you're up against.
01:00:36 When you get to the palace, God's got you covered.
01:00:39 When you get to the new job, God's got you covered.
01:00:42 When you get married, God's got you covered.
01:00:45 When you walk in that new door, God's got you covered.
01:00:48 I want to talk to somebody about provision.
01:00:51 Get ready for provision.
01:00:53 Get ready for provision.
01:00:55 Get ready for things to fit you that you didn't grow up with.
01:00:59 Get ready for God to put you in an outfit
01:01:02 that you didn't stitch yourself.
01:01:04 Get ready for God to have you covered.
01:01:06 Somebody shout, "God's got me covered!"
01:01:10 Say, "God's got me covered!"
01:01:13 [laughter]
01:01:15 Now get this.
01:01:17 [cheers]
01:01:20 Ooh, this place about to explode.
01:01:23 I feel something about to explode in here.
01:01:26 Number four is provision.
01:01:28 God is a clothier.
01:01:31 He shows up in Genesis making clothes.
01:01:35 When Adam found out he was naked,
01:01:37 God made the first fur coat and covered his nakedness.
01:01:43 God covered Adam.
01:01:45 Adam didn't make his own clothes.
01:01:47 Whatever Adam made fell apart,
01:01:50 but whatever God made for him covered him up
01:01:53 and delivered him in his sinful state.
01:01:57 God is a clothier.
01:01:59 He's a designer.
01:02:01 He's a tailor.
01:02:03 He will cover you for what he's called you to.
01:02:07 God won't call you to something and not cover you for it.
01:02:12 He used Noah's sons to cover Noah.
01:02:16 Even though Noah was drunk and naked,
01:02:19 God used his sons to cover his nakedness.
01:02:24 He was a clothier.
01:02:26 When Aaron had led the Hebrew children
01:02:29 to be naked dancing around the fire,
01:02:33 while they were naked and dancing,
01:02:35 God was on the mountaintop designing Aaron's clothes
01:02:40 because God is a clothier,
01:02:42 and he didn't know that Aaron couldn't raise no hill
01:02:46 that heaven couldn't cover.
01:02:48 When Moses came down off the mountaintop,
01:02:51 he didn't just come with the Ten Commandments.
01:02:54 He came with the garments of the priests
01:02:57 as a sign that God is a clothier.
01:03:00 Slap your neighbor and tell him God's got you covered.
01:03:04 He used Hannah to cover Samuel
01:03:08 so that Samuel would be in a temple and have a coat
01:03:13 because God had him covered.
01:03:15 He used Jacob to cover Joseph.
01:03:18 That's why he made a coat of many colors for him,
01:03:22 and while Joseph was still a boy,
01:03:25 he was dressed like a prince
01:03:27 because God's provision is in God's prophecy,
01:03:32 and whatever God has prophesied over your life,
01:03:35 he will provide everything you need to get that thing done.
01:03:40 Can I go a little bit deeper?
01:03:42 He used the women to cover the body of Jesus
01:03:47 after Jesus was dead,
01:03:49 and he used Jesus to cover you.
01:03:54 What I'm trying to tell you
01:03:56 is what happened to Jonathan and David
01:03:59 is what happened to me and Jesus,
01:04:02 that Jesus was stripped that I might be covered.
01:04:06 He covered me with his righteousness.
01:04:09 He covered me with his gifts.
01:04:11 He covered me with his peace.
01:04:14 He covered me with his grace,
01:04:16 and that's why the enemy cannot destroy me
01:04:19 because God's got me covered,
01:04:21 and I'm seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
01:04:26 and I'm walking around like a prince
01:04:29 because my nakedness does not appear.
01:04:33 All God can see is his son.
01:04:36 That's why Jesus died on the cross
01:04:39 because Jesus died on the cross
01:04:42 because when God looked at Jesus,
01:04:44 he saw me,
01:04:46 and when he looked at me, he saw his son,
01:04:50 and so Jesus was smitten of God
01:04:53 because he became naked that I might be clothed,
01:04:57 or Paul said he became poor
01:05:00 that through his poverty I might be made rich.
01:05:04 Are you hear what I'm saying to you?
01:05:07 I'm about ready for my fifth point.
01:05:10 I'm out of time.
01:05:12 I don't mean it's too late in the service.
01:05:14 I mean I have run into pivot time,
01:05:17 and the Lord sent me here to tell you
01:05:21 it's time to pivot.
01:05:23 Come out of your mourning.
01:05:25 Come out of your depression.
01:05:27 Come out of your heaviness.
01:05:29 Come out of your despair.
01:05:31 Come out of your turmoil.
01:05:33 Little by little, come on, pull it.
01:05:36 Little by little, get me out of it
01:05:39 because I got to pivot.
01:05:41 I got to pivot.
01:05:42 I got to come out of everything
01:05:44 that was holding me back.
01:05:46 I got to come out of it
01:05:48 because it's my pivot time.
01:05:50 I want somebody in this room,
01:05:52 somebody in their living room,
01:05:54 somebody in their kitchen
01:05:56 to jump up and pivot.
01:05:58 It's time to pivot.
01:06:00 It's time to pivot.
01:06:02 You're standing on the verge of a transformation,
01:06:05 and it's your time to pivot.
01:06:08 You can't sleep no longer
01:06:10 over what God has rejected.
01:06:12 It's time to pivot.
01:06:14 God has called you
01:06:17 for such a time as this.
01:06:20 God has called you
01:06:22 for such a time as this,
01:06:25 and it's your pivot moment.
01:06:27 Don't let nobody hold you down.
01:06:30 Come here, Joseph.
01:06:31 Don't let nobody hold you down.
01:06:34 Pull on me.
01:06:36 Pull me back.
01:06:38 I ain't going to let you stop me
01:06:41 from my moment.
01:06:43 I'll shake you.
01:06:45 I'll rattle you.
01:06:47 I'll move you
01:06:48 because it's my time to pivot.
01:06:52 I'm telling you,
01:06:53 you're standing there looking at me,
01:06:55 but this is your hour to pivot,
01:06:57 and the Holy Ghost woke me up
01:07:00 in the middle of the night
01:07:02 and told me to tell you,
01:07:04 "Pivot.
01:07:07 Shift.
01:07:09 Turn around.
01:07:11 Get ready for what's next.
01:07:13 God is dressing you
01:07:15 for your next.
01:07:17 You are worried
01:07:19 about your now,
01:07:21 but God is preparing you
01:07:23 for your next,
01:07:25 so what I want you to do this morning
01:07:28 is at all costs
01:07:30 step into your next.
01:07:32 Step into it
01:07:34 and watch God provide.
01:07:36 Step into it
01:07:38 and watch God promote.
01:07:40 Step into it
01:07:41 and watch God prepare.
01:07:43 Step into it
01:07:45 and watch God make a way.
01:07:47 I feel a blessing
01:07:49 coming on this room.
01:07:51 I feel it coming on this place,
01:07:54 and in the 30 seconds I got left,
01:07:56 I don't have time
01:07:58 to preach to people who don't get it,
01:08:01 but everybody in this room
01:08:03 understands it's pivot time.
01:08:05 Just pivot.
01:08:07 Just shift.
01:08:09 Don't explain it.
01:08:11 Don't talk about it.
01:08:13 Don't worry about who don't like it.
01:08:15 Don't worry about who's looking at you funny.
01:08:18 Just slap your neighbor and say,
01:08:20 "Excuse me," and pivot.
01:08:22 [music]
01:08:42 Who here is God talking to you?
01:08:45 [music]
01:08:51 This one pivotal moment
01:08:56 changed not only the trajectory
01:09:00 of David's life,
01:09:04 but brought Judah
01:09:06 into the kingdom,
01:09:09 into the place of power,
01:09:12 put the scepter
01:09:14 in the praiser's hand,
01:09:16 so that Christ
01:09:19 could be the son of David.
01:09:23 David had to transition
01:09:26 into the palace
01:09:29 so that Christ could come as the Messiah.
01:09:34 A lawgiver shall not depart
01:09:38 from between his feet
01:09:40 until shallow,
01:09:45 until shallow comes.
01:09:49 When shallow comes,
01:09:51 it shifts everything.
01:09:54 So now we have a Jesus
01:09:57 who is an heir to the throne.
01:10:01 Jesus was so intimidating,
01:10:04 even as a lion's whelp,
01:10:07 as a baby,
01:10:09 he had Herod trying to kill him
01:10:12 because Herod knew
01:10:14 that even though he was a baby,
01:10:17 he was a king.
01:10:19 For unto us, a son is born,
01:10:23 and unto us, a child is given.
01:10:27 I feel like preaching.
01:10:29 And the government
01:10:31 shall be upon his shoulders,
01:10:34 and of his kingdom,
01:10:36 and of his kingdom,
01:10:38 there shall be no end.
01:10:40 Herod tried to kill him
01:10:42 while he was still a baby
01:10:44 because he knew
01:10:46 even though he was a baby,
01:10:48 he was still a king.
01:10:51 Let me tell you who you serve.
01:10:54 Your Lord is the Lord of glory.
01:10:57 He is the lion
01:10:59 of the tribe of Judah.
01:11:01 He is the seed of Abraham.
01:11:05 He is the kinsman, redeemer.
01:11:09 He is the day star
01:11:11 and the boath.
01:11:13 He is my shield.
01:11:15 He is my buckler.
01:11:17 He is my physician.
01:11:19 He is my peace.
01:11:21 He is my Lord.
01:11:24 He is my trumpet.
01:11:26 He is my trumpet in Zion.
01:11:29 Blow the trumpet in Zion.
01:11:31 (crowd cheering)
01:11:34 Sound the alarm in the holy mountain.
01:11:37 Lift up your head.
01:11:40 O ye gates,
01:11:42 and the king of glory
01:11:44 shall come in.
01:11:46 Who is the king of glory?
01:11:49 The Lord strong and mighty.
01:11:52 The Lord mighty in manner.
01:11:55 I dare you to praise him
01:11:58 like he is your king.
01:12:00 Like he is your rock.
01:12:02 Like he is your deliverer.
01:12:05 Like he is your way maker.
01:12:08 I dare you.
01:12:10 (crowd cheering)
01:12:13 Praise him until hell gets nervous.
01:12:17 Praise him until witches run out the room.
01:12:21 Praise him until demons tremble.
01:12:25 Praise him until fear runs out the house.
01:12:29 Lift up your voice.
01:12:32 (crowd cheering)
01:12:35 (crowd cheering)
01:12:38 I need a thousand radical people
01:12:42 that will run up here and praise him
01:12:46 like he's your king.
01:12:48 Like he's your Lord.
01:12:50 Like he's your master.
01:12:53 Give him the praise right now.
01:12:56 Come on musicians.
01:12:58 Take me to church.
01:13:00 (crowd cheering)
01:13:03 (crowd cheering)
01:13:06 (crowd cheering)
01:13:09 (crowd cheering)
01:13:11 He's my everything.
01:13:13 (crowd cheering)
01:13:16 (crowd cheering)
01:13:19 Hallelujah.
01:13:21 (crowd cheering)
01:13:24 (crowd cheering)
01:13:26 Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory.
01:13:29 (crowd cheering)
01:13:31 (crowd cheering)
01:13:33 Yeah.
01:13:34 (crowd cheering)
01:13:36 Yeah.
01:13:37 (crowd cheering)
01:13:39 Yeah.
01:13:40 (crowd cheering)
01:13:41 Glory.
01:13:42 (crowd cheering)
01:13:44 (crowd cheering)
01:13:47 (crowd cheering)
01:13:48 Bless his name.
01:13:49 Bless his name.
01:13:50 Bless his name.
01:13:51 Bless his name.
01:13:52 Bless his name.
01:13:54 Bless his name.
01:13:56 (crowd cheering)
01:13:57 Give him a praise.
01:13:59 (crowd cheering)
01:14:02 (crowd cheering)
01:14:05 (crowd cheering)
01:14:07 This is what I want you to understand.
01:14:10 All over the building, all around the altar, all online.
01:14:15 You're at the point of a pivot.
01:14:20 Can you believe it?
01:14:25 The enemies that you see today.
01:14:30 (crowd cheering)
01:14:35 Oh my God.
01:14:38 I'm going to tell y'all, because I don't think they heard me.
01:14:42 The enemies that you see today, you shall see them no more.
01:14:48 You shall see them no more.
01:14:50 God just used them to maneuver you into the position.
01:14:57 (crowd cheering)
01:15:02 (crowd cheering)
01:15:04 (crowd cheering)
01:15:09 (crowd cheering)
01:15:16 (crowd cheering)
01:15:21 (crowd cheering)
01:15:25 Lift up your right hand.
01:15:30 The scepter is in your hand.
01:15:35 It is not in the hand of your enemies.
01:15:39 You will take your enemies by their neck.
01:15:45 You will take them by their neck.
01:15:51 God says if you hear this word,
01:15:54 you will take your enemies by the neck.
01:15:59 And I will render them helpless before you.
01:16:03 And as he said to Joshua,
01:16:05 no man shall stand before you all the days of your life.
01:16:10 And the only thing I ask of you,
01:16:13 is that no matter how high I raise you,
01:16:16 no matter what position I put you in,
01:16:18 no matter what kind of house I give you,
01:16:20 no matter what kind of ministry I give you,
01:16:23 no matter how many gifts I lay at your feet,
01:16:25 that you will always praise me.
01:16:30 Because you are the tribe.
01:16:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:16:36 You are the tribe of Judah.
01:16:41 You are the tribe of Judah.
01:16:44 Some people just come to church,
01:16:46 but you are of the tribe of Judah.
01:16:53 (crowd cheering)
01:17:00 If you're able, drop to your knees.
01:17:05 If you're able, drop to your knees.
01:17:08 If you're not able to drop to your knees,
01:17:10 then you'll see,
01:17:13 with the scepter comes responsibility.
01:17:23 To him whom much is given, much is required.
01:17:31 You cannot be petty and powerful.
01:17:37 You cannot be vengeful and victorious.
01:17:48 In order for David to take on Jonathan's clothes,
01:17:52 he had to let go of his own.
01:18:00 When I start talking about disruptive thinking,
01:18:02 a lot of people miss what God wants to put them in
01:18:05 because they won't let go of what is customary
01:18:09 and traditional to where they came from.
01:18:14 Do you have the courage to strip away
01:18:22 what has been your go-to, your default setting,
01:18:27 and receive what God is about to lay on you?
01:18:31 The scepter shall not depart from your hand,
01:18:37 nor a lawgiver from between your feet,
01:18:42 until shallow comes.
01:18:56 On our knees, we bow before you.
01:19:01 On our knees, we worship you.
01:19:07 We know we don't deserve the scepter.
01:19:11 It has been conveyed upon us.
01:19:13 It has been provided to us.
01:19:15 It has been placed on our shoulders.
01:19:18 This cloak we wear, we did not make,
01:19:22 but we receive it now.
01:19:25 This peace we have, we did not create,
01:19:31 but we receive it now.
01:19:33 This grace we have, we did not create,
01:19:38 but we receive it now.
01:19:42 And on our bended knees,
01:19:45 we humbly accept this point
01:19:51 that you brought us to.
01:19:55 And now we must pivot.
01:20:02 The assignment is too great for us,
01:20:09 but through you, we can do all things.
01:20:14 Now help me to lay aside every weight.
01:20:18 Help me to lay aside every sin.
01:20:21 Help me to lay aside all pettiness
01:20:24 and envy and superfluity.
01:20:27 Help me to lay it all aside
01:20:30 that I might be endowed with this anointing.
01:20:33 Lift your hands and receive this anointing.
01:20:35 Right on your knees, receive this anointing.
01:20:37 I receive it now.
01:20:44 I receive it now.
