00:00 Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
00:05 How are you today?
00:06 Today I'm here with the last or the third part of my series of favorite tools or beauty
00:12 tools.
00:13 I did a part one where I talked about all my favorite eye makeup brushes and then I
00:19 did a part two where it was all about my face brushes, the must have.
00:24 I mean I go to the bare minimum.
00:27 If I were to just narrow down my collection to my daily use, my daily staples, like my
00:32 can't live without holy grail brushes, those are the ones that I'm talking about.
00:36 And today I'm going to talk to you guys about my favorite beauty tools, the non brushes.
00:43 And this was a little tricky for me because I wouldn't consider any of these like, "Oh
00:49 my God, die hard, you must have them," because it really depends on your makeup style.
00:53 So I wanted to incorporate everyone's makeup style into this video.
00:57 If you like to use glitter, if you're really simple, if you have a small collection, if
01:01 you have a little collection, these are kind of products that you would cater or need based
01:07 on your style of makeup or the size of the situation going on here.
01:14 So the very first product that I want to talk to you guys about is going to be no surprise
01:18 because I always talk about them.
01:20 But these are the e.l.f. makeup remover cleansing cloths.
01:23 I know makeup remover wipes are, everyone has them, every brand does them.
01:29 The price can range from like a dollar to like $10.
01:33 They can be very expensive, they can be very cheap.
01:35 Some of them can be very dry, some of them exfoliate.
01:38 I have tried so many different brands and the only brand that never lets me down is
01:43 e.l.f.
01:44 e.l.f. has two different kinds, so make sure that you're getting the makeup remover cleansing
01:48 cloths.
01:49 These are very moistened, they're never dry.
01:53 I use them to, you know, if I have a spill, if I need to remove swatches, if I want to
02:00 clean up areas of my face, they're very gentle on the skin.
02:03 I really love them.
02:05 But I think the reason I love them more is because they're $3 and you can get them at
02:09 Target.
02:10 They're wonderful.
02:11 You could clean your tools with them, you could clean your station with them.
02:15 They're just a multi-purpose, it's so handy and so multi-purpose and it comes with such
02:21 a cheap price tag that it's like, you'd be a fool not to use them, basically.
02:28 That's basically what I'm trying to say.
02:29 So I really like these, you guys.
02:31 So that's definitely a beauty tool must have.
02:34 My other beauty tool must have is a beauty blender.
02:38 Nothing will ever compare to an actual beauty blender.
02:43 I know it's $20, I know it's expensive and it's just a sponge, but this is a magic sponge.
02:51 It is abs...
02:52 I'm sorry that I didn't clean it for you guys.
02:53 I just did my makeup.
02:56 It's usually pink, I promise.
02:58 It's usually just pink.
02:59 It is...
03:01 Oh my gosh.
03:04 If you want flawless makeup application, you need a beauty blender.
03:08 But you want to make sure that you take care of it.
03:11 I know it's $20 and it's $20 out the gate.
03:15 I kept my first beauty blender for one year and it was fine.
03:22 I cleaned it.
03:23 I took very good care of it.
03:27 I never had any problems with breakouts or with it getting contaminated or dirty or absorbing
03:34 the liquid and wasting liquid.
03:35 A lot of times people say like, "Oh, well, it's going to soak up all my foundation and
03:39 I'm just going to throw money down the drain."
03:41 But this is a special sponge.
03:42 It's formulated in a way that once you wet it, all of the sponge molecules or whatever
03:48 it's made of absorb the liquid, expand, and it doesn't allow for the product to get into
03:54 the sponge.
03:55 It sits on the sponge.
03:56 And so you bump it into the skin and you get a flawless application.
04:00 One of the reasons why I like this guy too is because it works well with powders as well.
04:06 So I can do my foundation with it and then if it's still damp, I could put it in some
04:12 powder and put the powder on top and it's not going to make it cakey or messy or gross.
04:18 It's a magic sponge.
04:20 There's no way for me to explain it.
04:21 A lot of times people ask me, "Well, how do you know when you need to replace it?"
04:25 Once the pores on the sponge tend to get bigger, and you'll see right away.
04:31 Mine has a little tiny tear right here and the pores are starting to get bigger.
04:36 You just toss it and you get a new one.
04:38 But if you take care of it with daily use, you could keep it...
04:43 For daily use, you could keep it probably for six months.
04:46 Easy.
04:47 I mean, you're the only one using it.
04:49 So you want to make sure you take care of it.
04:51 But I would avoid all of those tips about microwaving it and doing all that crazy stuff.
04:56 Just wash it with hot water and soap, you guys.
04:59 It's simple, super easy.
05:00 Then of course, I would suggest having either a Viramona color switch or a hair donut on
05:07 hand so that you could wipe your brushes in between washes and you don't have to mix your
05:13 colors together.
05:14 So if you don't have time to wash your brushes once a week or every two weeks or between
05:19 colors or whatever, get yourself a hair donut or a Viramona, wipe them clean on this textured
05:26 sponge and you're good to go.
05:30 Tool number three.
05:31 Tool number four would definitely be a good pair of scissors and a good pair of tweezers.
05:38 I'm putting these together.
05:40 I don't know why.
05:41 Probably because I use them for lashes.
05:43 But if you get yourself a really good pair of mustache scissors and a good pair of tweezers,
05:48 they're really multipurpose.
05:50 They're good for trimming your brows.
05:52 They're good for cutting eyelash extensions or false eyelashes.
05:57 They're good for putting on eyelashes, for plucking your eyebrows, for I don't know,
06:01 if you have a long nose hair and you need to cut it.
06:04 These are really good tools.
06:05 Always make sure you have a really good brand of scissors and tweezers.
06:10 A good brand doesn't mean expensive.
06:13 It just means sharp.
06:14 So you're going to get the precise cut or the precise pluck without damaging your skin.
06:19 A lot of times if you don't have really good tweezers, and by good tweezers I mean sharp,
06:24 if you don't have really sharp tweezers, you could cut yourself or pinch yourself and then
06:29 you have a bump or a lesion where you were just trying to pluck a hair.
06:35 So my favorite brand of tweezers is Tweezerman.
06:39 I've had the same pair.
06:40 This is actually a new pair that I just got.
06:43 I still have my same pair for six years.
06:47 I have it in my sink in my bathroom and that's what I use just to, if I have like a random
06:52 stray hair, because you guys know I don't have very much eyebrows.
06:55 They just don't come in.
06:57 But I'll do get that crazy one or two hairs that I need to remove.
07:01 And I've had the same tweezers for like six years.
07:03 So a good pair of scissors, mustache scissors, and tweezers.
07:07 I forgot to mention since we were talking about false eyelashes, is a really good eyelash
07:11 glue.
07:12 Find an eyelash glue that works for you.
07:14 A lot of people use Duo.
07:16 Makeup artists for ages and ages and ages and ages have used Duo.
07:20 It's a great brand.
07:21 I personally am sensitive to it.
07:23 I'm not allergic to latex, but I'm sensitive to that glue.
07:28 And I don't get a reaction.
07:30 My eyes just get a little watery and it smells really strong for me.
07:33 My lash glue of choice is the Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive.
07:38 It's like $4 at CVS.
07:40 I really like it and no way are your eyelashes popping off.
07:46 No way.
07:47 It's really, really strong hold.
07:49 I really like it.
07:50 And it's not a black one.
07:51 I know some people recommend like getting the dark glue.
07:54 This is a clear one and it's really clear.
07:56 It doesn't look clumpy or anything.
07:58 I'm wearing eyelashes today and you can see it's pretty invisible.
08:00 Speaking of eyelashes, you need a good eyelash curler.
08:05 And for this one, I'm not even going to tell you which ... Okay, I'll tell you.
08:08 This is the Tarte one, but it depends on your eye shape.
08:13 It depends on the thickness of your eyelashes.
08:17 It depends on your frequency of use.
08:19 It depends if you're one of those rebels that puts mascara on and then curls your lashes.
08:25 So you need a good eyelash curler, but it all depends on your lifestyle and face or
08:32 eye shape.
08:33 So a lot of you swear by the Shiumura brand because you have almond shaped eyes or your
08:40 eyelashes are different.
08:43 They grow in a different direction.
08:45 I personally, my Holy Grail eyelash curler is an eyelash curler from Mary Kay that I
08:50 got like 15 years ago, but I think my son got a hold of it and I can't find it.
08:55 So I replaced it with this one.
08:57 It's good, but it's not life changing.
08:59 So find yourself an eyelash curler that works for you and you'll notice such a big difference
09:05 in the way your eyes look.
09:06 Then let's talk about lips.
09:09 And for lips, these aren't really tools.
09:12 I mean I guess these were makeup products, but because they're colorless I thought I
09:16 would consider them a tool.
09:18 A first one is a lip primer.
09:21 A lip primer is something that's going to hydrate your lips and is going to create a
09:25 smooth canvas and it's going to prolong the wear of your lipstick or lip liner.
09:30 My favorite is the MAC Prep and Prime one.
09:32 It just comes in one of these skinny lipstick types.
09:38 It's really cool because you put it on and it feels like chapstick.
09:43 And then it gets really sticky and then it dries.
09:46 And you'll notice that even though it doesn't make a big difference in the way your lipstick
09:52 applies, it does make a big difference in how it looks and how long your lipstick lasts.
09:58 The other lip product that I wanted to suggest is an anti-feathering lip pencil.
10:03 This is just like a wax pencil that you reverse line your lips.
10:07 So instead of lining my actual lip line, I go below my lip line and I line my lips and
10:12 it prevents looser or more liquidy products from bleeding out.
10:17 It keeps them in.
10:18 It's almost like a corral or a gate for looser lip products like OCC Lip Tars or the Lip
10:24 Glazes from LA Girl I think is the brand.
10:29 So that's that.
10:30 I have two.
10:31 I use the one from Milani and I use the one from Makeup Forever.
10:35 I don't notice a difference between the two.
10:36 I honestly think they're the same exact thing.
10:39 The one from Urban Decay, Ozone, I don't like that.
10:43 It doesn't work at all.
10:44 And the last two products that I want to share with you are definitely must-haves.
10:48 The first one is a really good sharpener.
10:51 You need a really good sharpener.
10:53 You will not know the power of a beautifully sharpened eyeliner or lip liner or how beautiful
11:00 they can look without a really sharp point.
11:03 So make sure you have a really good pencil sharpener in your collection.
11:10 It can't be like a school sharpener.
11:12 It can't be an office sharpener.
11:14 It has to be for makeup products and preferably one that has the standard hole and the big
11:20 hole.
11:21 Whenever I say get yourself a good pair of, I always mean sharp.
11:26 So you want a sharp pair of scissors.
11:28 You want a sharp pair of tweezers.
11:29 You want a sharp sharpener.
11:30 Do you see what I did there?
11:33 Sharp sharpener.
11:34 So you want a sharp sharpener so that it doesn't break your pencil.
11:37 It just removes just the perfect amount of wood or wax and leaves the perfect amount
11:43 of product there without wasting it.
11:46 This is the Grindhouse from Urban Decay.
11:48 I literally talk about, I find an excuse to talk about this sharpener.
11:51 It's a really good one.
11:52 And then the last one that I wanted to talk to you about is, I don't know if it's a must-have,
11:57 but it's such a multipurpose product that I thought it would be a good idea to mention.
12:03 And that's Max Fix Plus.
12:05 And this is such a multipurpose product.
12:07 You could use it to remove any powderiness after you do your foundation.
12:11 You could use it to wet your brush to apply pigment or glitter to your eyes.
12:18 You could use this product as like a hydrating primer before you apply your foundation.
12:23 This could also be the moistening agent that you use to make your NARS Extra Dimension
12:33 blushes wet.
12:35 So it's a really good moistening agent to have in your collection to do multipurpose
12:43 things.
12:44 So instead of having like a separate pigment glue and a separate vitamin spray and a separate
12:51 moistening or spray bottle for brushes to wet a brush or to apply a pigment or...
12:58 Can you hear my dog?
13:02 And if you're not sure if you're going to like this, they have a little tiny half bottle.
13:06 It's so cute.
13:07 It's like a little fluffer stumper tiny little bottle that you can try and see if you're
13:13 going to like it.
13:14 It's not that expensive either.
13:15 So I think these are all the beauty tools that I would suggest you guys having in your
13:19 collection.
13:20 And like I said, you don't need all of these.
13:23 These would be basically catered to your makeup style.
13:26 I know some of you are like, "I'll never touch a loose pigment.
13:29 I'll never touch a glitter."
13:30 So there's some things that you could skip.
13:32 A lot of you don't even curl your lashes.
13:34 Like my friend Samantha, she never curls her lashes.
13:36 She doesn't have an eyelash curler.
13:37 So these are just like a general list of suggestions.
13:41 I will list them all in the description box below.
13:43 I will also link the ones that I personally use in case you guys are curious to try them.
13:48 And I think that's it.
13:50 This is the last part of this three-part series.
13:52 I really hope you guys enjoyed it.
13:54 I will also link the two other videos that I did with my favorite face brushes and my
13:59 favorite eye brushes in case you guys are curious or you missed it.
14:02 So let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
14:05 And as always, if you guys found this video useful and entertaining or learned something,
14:08 please give me a thumbs up or subscribe if you haven't already.
14:12 And until next time, this coffee break is over.
14:14 Bye guys.
