00:00 Hey everyone, it's Cupquake. Welcome to another episode of Quake and Make. Since the 4th of July is coming up here in the US, I decided that I wanted to do something firework related, explosion related.
00:15 So, I'm going to be making a Minecraft TNT cake today. I'm really excited about this. I have all of the ingredients here, so let me tell you guys what you'll need today.
00:27 For today's episode, you're going to need 2 white cakes, vegetable oil, 6 eggs, water, pop rocks, black licorice laces, marshmallows, 2 circle cookie cutters that are different sizes, so a really tiny one, and one that's about this size,
00:49 a black marker, white lace, red food coloring, and a toothpick.
00:58 Alright, so go ahead and put all of your ingredients into the mixing bowl. I'm going to do one cake at a time, because we're going to dye the actual cake.
01:11 We're going to dye it red, so it can look like the TNT. Once you have it mixed, we're going to add some color into this white cake.
01:23 So, let's get our food coloring, and I'm going to use my toothpick to mix it into the cake batter. Alright, so this is the red color that we're looking for. This looks awesome. Perfect.
01:39 Let me just try to not make a mess of this. Alright, so we already have our powder, let's just go ahead and pour it in our cake mix.
01:48 Alright, so now that we have our two cake mixes ready to go, we're just going to go ahead and bake them.
01:53 Alright, so once your cake is all baked, you ideally want to take it out of the pan. Mine started to break, so I'm going to keep it in there.
02:01 As I said before, you wanted to use a circle cookie cutter, but I decided, hey, it's Minecraft, I should be using a square one, so I'm going to use a square one instead.
02:10 So let's go ahead and just cut out some squares.
02:17 Alright, so now that you have cut out all of your cake, do not throw away the extra cake. You can make cake pops out of this, which I'm probably going to do and have in a later episode.
02:28 Now we're going to go ahead and cut out the middles. So I was going to use this tiny little circle cookie cutter, but we need something longer that we can actually pull out.
02:38 So I couldn't find one at my local store, so I managed to find this shot glass. And I'm just going to go ahead and use this.
02:46 So let's go ahead and put it inside the middle, and then pull it out.
02:53 And be sure to save a little portion of it so you can put it back on top to cover it for the bottom part of the cake.
03:02 So I'm going to go ahead and do this for every single cake. Make sure to save your little tops as little parts.
03:09 Alright, so now that all of our cakes are cut out, what we're going to do is we're going to just get regular frosting, put it in a baggie, and snip a hole right in the bottom corner.
03:22 And we're going to pipe on our icing onto the rim of the cake. So decide which one you're going to put on top, because it's only going on one of them.
03:33 So I'm going to put this one on top of this one. So let's go ahead and pipe on some icing.
03:40 There we go. And then we'll just place this cake right on top.
03:52 There we go. So, after we do this, we have a hole that goes straight through the cake.
03:59 So what we're going to do, we're going to get our pop rocks. And I'm going to go ahead and cut right here.
04:08 What we're going to do is we're going to pour the pop rocks inside of the cake.
04:13 Before you do this, I'm sorry I didn't mention, make sure to put the cork in the bottom cake.
04:18 I didn't cut all the way through, I just cut a portion of it. So you can probably do that instead of cutting out the whole thing.
04:24 So what we're going to do is go ahead and add our pop rocks.
04:28 I only have three bags, so I don't know how much I should put in here.
04:38 That seems like enough.
04:44 Then after, what we're going to do is get our marshmallows.
04:49 And instead of using the cake, I decided to change it. What we're going to do is we're going to get some marshmallows.
04:57 And put it in the top right here.
05:00 And also, we're going to get our black licorice leaf.
05:07 And we're going to crack some of it.
05:12 I think this actually is a continuous string, so what we're going to do is go ahead and grab it and cut a piece.
05:19 We're going to place this inside.
05:22 And then we're going to put some marshmallows back on top of it.
05:26 So we're just going to stuff it in there.
05:29 So this is like a cube.
05:32 So there is one TNT.
05:34 And in order to have the full TNT effect, we need to make an actual TNT square.
05:40 So we're going to place this on our plate right here.
05:45 And then we're going to go ahead and line up the rest of the TNT.
05:50 Alright, so now that we have our cake done, we're going to add the final touch.
05:55 And this is just adding lace all the way around it.
05:58 And we're going to draw, I already have it drawn, but I'm going to marker it in TNT.
06:02 This is not edible, this is just for decoration.
06:05 So if you would like to use something edible, you could use fondant or even, I think this is edible paper.
