DOJ's Trump Investigation Exceeds $9.2M

The Justice Department has spent over $9.2 million on investigations related to former President Donald Trump since November, according to the first public accounting of expenses. Special Counsel Jack Smith's office spent more than $5.4 million between November and March 31. Additionally, other DOJ entities spent $3.8 million to support Smith's work. Comparatively, the spending on investigations into Trump and his allies falls short of the nearly $32 million spent by Robert Mueller and other DOJ offices during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
