How Can The Running Back Market Be Fixed In The NFL?

00:23 Zika Elliott was released, you don't have much buzz on him.
00:25 Kareem Hunt, Leonard Fournette goes on and
00:27 on here with guys have been rather productive the past few seasons.
00:31 So it's easy to say that but the market has to be there.
00:34 Austin Eckler was trying to explore, right?
00:36 Any other options, but ultimately the Chargers paid him a little bit more and
00:40 extended him to stay there.
00:41 So I think you just have a look at the special skill set,
00:45 maybe look at the current landscape of running backs.
00:48 You might say Christian McCaffrey, Derek Henry, and
00:50 maybe Alvin Kamara from his early work with the Saints.
00:53 Have some Hall of Fame credentials, but
00:56 otherwise you don't see that a lot from these active running backs.
00:58 And when I look at Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley, they're good backs, but
01:03 they've had two good seasons.
01:04 And you put them in the top five, or
01:07 they more behind Nick Chubb and Derek Henry and those guys I mentioned.
01:11 Are they right where they're supposed to be?
01:13 And that's tied for seventh with their guaranteed money,
01:16 10 million per season.
01:18 It's one season, and I know they want some long term security, but
01:21 teams are not gonna give that to them, especially with their durability issues.
01:24 And in the case of Tony Pollard, he was making less than a million.
01:27 So 10 million looks like a really nice raise for Tony Pollard.
01:30 That's why he signed his tender, and that's why he's gonna play for
01:32 the Cowboys.
