00:00So, as we get ready for these two games today, a lot was made
00:06Lisey Guy of the Bruins trip tonight which will actually be
00:09during the afternoon hours out to the islands and off the
00:13mainland in Honolulu against Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors in
00:17action week zero taking on Delaware State. Congrats to you.
00:21The first best bet of the year already hitting the Hornets
00:24covering as a forty-point underdog. Did lose by three
00:28touchdowns but Hawaii got nowhere close to covering as a
00:31thirty-five fourteen victory. Checks off the first game of
00:35the year for Timmy Chang and Hawaii. Braden Shager barely
00:39through the football. We'll have a tougher test against UCLA.
00:43Of course, the Bruins, a lot of turnover. We talked about Chip
00:46Kelly, new OC at Ohio State. Deshawn Foster, legendary
00:50running back for the Bruins in the early 2000s. Now, the head
00:54coach for the Bruins. And Joe, UCLA is greater than a two
00:58touchdown favorite in Hawaii. The Warriors talked about
01:01circling this game against a big ten team knowing that this
01:05was going to be a true test to begin its 2024 campaign. Does
01:10Hawaii show up? What do you expect out of the debut of
01:13Deshawn Foster? Fireworks in this matchup and I agree the
01:16fact that Hawaii has a game under their belt and I think
01:19really matters in regards to this matchup. They struggled.
01:22They were up fourteen to seven against Delaware State walking
01:25through the motions. You mentioned Schrager about 250
01:29passing yards. They couldn't really run it with Sims. I
01:31think you get a much better effort in terms of this
01:33matchup. UCLA, Ethan Garbers is an experienced quarterback.
01:38Very run heavy last year with Chip Kelly. They averaged well
01:41over 190 rushing yards per game and very good guys in
01:44regards to the front seven, right? Lynn, that former DC
01:48held opposing offenses to eighty rushing yards per game
01:50have but here's what it comes down to. It's a new scheme,
01:53right? Yeah. They're going in regards to a very difficult
01:56road matchup and not only that, Hawaii with the experience of
01:59the quarterback, I like Hawaii with the points but I'll tell
02:02you what, I love the over 53 and a half especially in a week
02:06one environment. That's secondary having to read
02:08coverage against Schrager. That's the match up to me. Give
02:12me Hawaii in the over. Yeah, look, I think it's a little
02:14zigzag personally. Delaware State was good to us last week.
02:17Let's hope Hawaii can be good to us now. Yeah. Catching fourteen
02:20and a half. That hook has appeared which is really
02:22important now. Get inside two touchdowns and for Hawaii, you
02:26can't be like, oh, they did a great job in the second half
02:28against the awful Delaware State team but after giving up
02:31a touchdown on the opening drive for the Hornets of the
02:33second half, Delaware State can no longer move the football
02:37and Hawaii started to find some rhythm. We gotta remember
02:39Hawaii went out there very vanilla because they're waiting
02:42for UCLA. Right. Coming here on island and it's, you know,
02:46everything about this is considered a timing offense.
02:49So, it got better as it went along. I know it's been an
02:52advantage for teams who are actually making their debut in
02:55week one against week zero. I think Hawaii's in a bit of a
02:59unique spot though because it's on island in the way that they
03:01are. I think that they can at minimum mitigate that typical
03:05advantage we see. This is year number three under Timmy Chang,
03:08a Hawaii legend at the quarterback spot. Now, the
03:11head coach twelve and ten against the spread or the
03:13Rainbow Warriors as an underdog under Chang these past two
03:18years. They will have their work cut out for them. TJ
03:20Harden back in the backfield under Deshaun Foster as well
03:23for UCLA and Delaware State did put up more than a century
03:27mark last week on the ground. Two rushing scores against
03:30Hawaii.
