Transcript
00:00 OK, here we are checking on the tropics.
00:02 Your typical Atlantic hurricane season
00:04 going back 150 years or more of record
00:06 keeping this is what we come up with.
00:08 You don't expect to see a lot of
00:11 activity early in the season,
00:12 but later in August, September.
00:14 That's the historic peak of
00:15 the Atlantic hurricane season.
00:16 And where do we look for possible
00:18 development during the month of July?
00:20 Well, these orange shaded areas
00:22 are the places that systems have
00:24 tended to organize at this time of year.
00:26 What's going on right now in the Atlantic?
00:28 Not much in these development areas,
00:31 but way out here.
00:32 Yeah, right there very far away from
00:35 any land areas is tropical storm dawn.
00:39 Dawns headed slowly West and dawn
00:42 should start to turn more towards
00:44 the north with time.
00:45 Not a threat to anyone in particular,
00:47 perhaps some shipping interests.
00:50 That's it.
00:50 And then there is a Calvin.
00:53 Calvin skimmed past the southern
00:56 shores of the Big Island of Hawaii,
00:59 and now it's a post tropical cyclone
01:01 as it continues to be West and fades
01:04 away and any impacts here minimal.
01:07 So Calvin.
01:09 Moving out Kevin moving in.
