00:00 Of course net zero is important to me and that's why after I became Prime Minister earlier this year
00:05 I set up a brand new government department for energy security and net zero
00:10 So yes, we're gonna keep making progress towards our net zero ambitions
00:14 And we're also going to strengthen our energy security
00:16 I think the events of the last year or two have demonstrated the importance of investing more in homegrown energy
00:22 Whether that's more nuclear or offshore wind. I think that's what people want to see and that's what I'm going to deliver
00:27 Well, actually I'm standing up for the British people because I'm also cognizant that we're living through a time at the moment
00:33 Where inflation is high that's having an impact on household and families bills and I don't want to do anything to add to that
00:39 I want to make it easier. So yes, we're gonna make progress towards net zero
00:43 But we're gonna do that in a proportionate and pragmatic a way that doesn't unnecessarily
00:47 Give people more hassle and more costs in their life
00:50 That's what I'm not interested in prepared to do
00:53 But we are making progress towards net zero and our track record on this is better than the vast majority of other countries
00:58 That we're compared to so people should be proud of that
01:01 But also should be reassured that what I'm not going to do is unnecessarily add costs to their families bills
