00:30 they're spending a lot of time casting these kids

00:34 - And John, who had already gained fame
00:36 for his role in General Hospital,
00:38 will never forget one of the early table reads.
00:41 - And we sit down and we start reading
00:42 and Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie,
00:44 starts reading her lines and people are dying laughing.
00:47 I mean, screaming.
00:48 I was like, what's happening here?
00:50 Like, what was, and I'm slowly,
00:51 it's like she was getting confidence
00:53 and like, boom, knock 'em, you know,

01:11 And then we were like, oh, we give it a try.
01:13 And then Bob came in and I fought it for a long time.
01:16 - Of course, the show ended up being about a widower
01:19 named Danny Tanner, played by the late Bob Saget,
01:22 whose brother-in-law, Jesse, John,
01:24 and best friend, Joey, Dave Coulier,
01:26 moved into his San Francisco home
01:29 to help him raise his three daughters,
01:30 DJ, Candace Cameron-Buray, Stephanie, Jodi,
01:34 and Michelle, Mary-Kate, and Ashley Olsen.
01:37 - There was no central character on that show,

01:41 And that's, we were the best representation
01:45 of a loving family, not a normal family.
01:48 And it was the new normal was now an unconventional family.
