00:00 Welcome to the Regina Experimental Biarritz Hotel.
00:03 The hotel was built in 1906 by Henri Martinet,
00:06 a famous architect of the early 20th century.
00:10 The spirit of the hotel is really a seaside spirit,
00:13 on the Atlantic side.
00:13 This Basque country point is really important.
00:18 Several words to define the hotel.
00:20 I would say "relaxing" at first.
00:24 "Bold" in view of the hotel's decoration.
00:27 And "authentic" because it's a hotel with a lot of history.
00:31 The hotel was decorated by the architect Dorothée Melikson.
00:36 It was really designed as a seaside hotel in the Basque country.
00:40 You can find the braided ropes in the rooms,
00:43 you can find the stripes in different places of the hotel.
00:47 And also these colors that always remind of the oceanic side.
00:52 The second point that was worked on is really the neo-Basque side,
00:55 with the white that is omnipresent in the hotel.
00:59 The rounded sides, you can find them a lot in the bathroom.
01:02 With the Basque cross that reminds of the Palar land of the Basque country.
01:07 And finally the moulins that you can find at the entrance of the hotel.
01:10 These moulins can be found in different places in the city of Biarritz,
01:14 including the Casino.
01:16 We have a restaurant, the Frenchy Biarritz,
01:19 whose menu is signed by the chef Grégory Marchand.
01:22 The restaurant is located in front of the Bay of Biarritz.
01:26 It is open only in the evening,
01:28 so it is the best time to enjoy the sunset.
01:32 The magic of the place, in my opinion, is its location,
01:35 because we are really located on the seaside.
01:38 The whole hotel gives a view of the ocean on one side,
01:40 a view of the Gulf on the other side.
01:42 So it makes us dream, it makes us feel excited to be there.
01:47 And then when we enter the hotel, we really have this surprise.
01:50 We discover this atrium which is grandiose
01:53 and we discover these 17 meters under the ceiling
01:56 and the Eiffel-style glass.
01:58 (upbeat music)
