00:02 - We have some interesting news there as well.
00:05 Maybe a better idea who might be operating in that state.
00:10 What are you hearing?
00:11 - Yeah, so Kentucky, the legislator
00:14 had a special committee meeting last week
00:16 where they kind of heard from the regulators saying,
00:18 you know, this is the progress,
00:19 you know, they're supposed to launch retail sports books
00:21 September 7th, and a couple of weeks later,
00:24 they'll launch online sports books.
00:25 So plenty of NFL betting going on in Kentucky this year,
00:29 but we still don't know really which operators
00:31 are gonna be in town or in the state.
00:34 We know for sure Fandul,
00:35 'cause they're partnering with Churchill Downs,
00:37 and that's been known.
00:38 We know Caesars will be there
00:39 because they've partnered with Keeneland and Red Mile Racing.
00:42 So we know that.
00:44 Besides that, you can assume DraftKings will be there.
00:46 You can assume BetMGM, Fanatics probably, you know,
00:51 but this was our first real indication
00:53 of who might be coming in
00:55 other than the officially announced ones.
00:56 The regulators said they've been talking to Fandul,
00:59 that makes sense.
01:01 BetMGM, makes sense.
01:03 They didn't, did they include DraftKings?
01:06 I don't remember, but that again is an easy one.
01:09 We did hear Circa Sports and Wynn,
01:11 those kind of are maybe surprising
01:13 'cause Circa's not in a ton of states yet.
01:16 And so that might be an indication
01:17 that maybe they're starting to look to get into more states.
01:20 And Wynn is, you know, it's a trailing operator
01:23 in a lot of states, but it's not necessarily surprising
01:26 'cause they've been on the ground floor in a lot of states.
01:28 But yeah, Kentucky is gonna have a lot of operators,
01:31 up to 27, they are allowed in the legal framework.
01:35 I doubt we'll see that many, but you know,
01:38 if you wanna be in Kentucky,
01:39 it's a good chance they'll be there,
01:40 but the regulators are making good progress
01:42 and it should be one of the quickest states
01:44 to go from governor signing to legalization
01:47 or to operating in September.
01:49 So just a really fun time down there in the bluegrass state.
