00:02 It's sort of been the weapons for Lamar Jackson.
00:05 That's kind of been the issue in the past.
00:08 Not a lot of consistency there.
00:10 Hollywood Brown, good, then gone.
00:11 They draft a player and that doesn't necessarily work out.
00:16 So they went this off season, they added Zay Flowers, and
00:19 at least in the first 48 hours of camp, he's the player.
00:23 You know how this works, Bernard, how the media gets a hold of something and
00:25 just runs with it.
00:26 But Zay Flowers is that guy right now, out of the draft, very impressive thus far.
00:32 You know that they definitely needed to add a receiver in the draft.
00:36 They did it early.
00:37 What have you heard?
00:38 Do you think that this makes sense to sort of talk about him in this way?
00:42 >> Definitely, I definitely think it makes sense.
00:44 You have got to, in today's NFL, you've got to surround your quarterbacks,
00:49 who you're paying a lot of money to,
00:51 who they've just forked a lot of money over to Lamar Jackson.
00:55 You've got to surround him with players.
00:57 And you look at via free agency, bringing in Odell,
01:00 paying him the money that they paid him.
01:03 Hopefully he gets back to where he was, where I honestly think he can.
01:07 But you look at the players that you gotta build with your capital, and
01:13 that's the Zay Flowers and then the surrounding cast around them.
01:18 I believe that this kid can be really good.
01:22 Of course, we all understand that this is gonna be a brand new offense for
01:26 everybody.
01:27 And for Zay coming in as a rookie, for him, it's going to be good because,
01:33 this is what he learned.
01:34 This is what he's going to understand in his first year in the National Football
01:37 League. For Lamar, now we got to look at the last four or five years.
01:41 These are habits.
01:42 So now coming into the new offense, and for Odell,
01:46 kinda getting accustomed to the verbiage and everything else.
01:49 And for the rest of the guys, once again, in Lamar's situation, same,
01:53 last three or four years, they've learned this new offense where they were,
01:57 it was packages that were smaller packages with bigger bodies.
02:01 Now, if we're spread out, how do we work within that?
02:05 How can we be playmakers?
02:06 Cuz now, they're gonna be asked to be playmakers.
02:08 They're not asked to block all the time.
02:10 They're not asked to go down and run hitch routes.
02:12 They're gonna have to run routes, and Lamar's gonna have to get them the ball.
02:16 They're pros.
02:17 I really hope that they come together, gel together, and get this thing done.
02:22 Because this can be some successful stuff if they pull it off.
