00:00 One of my favorite mantras is, "I'll see it when I believe it,"
00:03 because you need to believe in yourself to see it.
00:05 I'm Livvy Dunn, and I'm here with Elle.
00:07 If I could tell my younger self one thing,
00:12 it would be to try not to be so perfect.
00:14 As a gymnast, you're always trying to be perfect,
00:17 and I just would tell myself that everything will work out.
00:20 The role social media plays in my life is that it's work,
00:25 but I also love to do it,
00:27 so it doesn't really feel like work.
00:30 The way I deal with stress that comes along with social media
00:33 is by just unplugging, turning it off, going for a drive,
00:37 grabbing a coffee, and just chilling.
00:39 The way I reward myself after a big moment
00:44 is by going to Raisin Canes with my mom.
00:46 My go-to order is a three-finger combo with a lemonade.
00:50 One of the biggest moments in my career
00:51 was when I made the USA national team,
00:53 and I competed for the USA internationally.
00:55 That was one of the biggest accomplishments
00:58 in my whole career, and I'm so grateful for that experience.
01:01 It just feels like all my hard work has paid off,
01:04 all the training, all the long hours in the gym.
01:06 I practice self-care by just unplugging my phone,
01:12 relaxing, maybe taking a nap,
01:15 and just doing things I love to do.
01:17 Definitely at times when I feel like I'm getting overwhelmed,
01:20 I know it's time for self-care.
01:21 I know it's time to just sit back, relax,
01:24 and I feel like that should be more prioritized
01:26 in people's lives because you definitely
01:28 need time for yourself.
01:29 One of the biggest challenges in my career so far
01:33 has been dealing with injuries.
01:35 They're no fun, and they're definitely very frustrating,
01:37 but overcoming them definitely makes you a better athlete.
01:40 I would say I'm most proud of being at the forefront
01:44 of this new era of college athletics with NIL
01:47 because that's such an unprecedented territory,
01:50 and being at the forefront of it is such an honor,
01:52 especially as a woman.
01:55 One of my earliest memories of gymnastics
01:57 was being at the park and swinging around on the bars
01:59 and doing flips, probably when I was like three years old.
02:02 When I look around now, at times,
02:04 I can't believe how far I've gotten,
02:06 but at the same time, I've worked really hard
02:08 for where I'm at.
02:08 I just feel really grateful
02:10 that I have all these awesome opportunities.
02:12 I feel like everything that I have now,
02:15 I pretty much manifested into my life,
02:17 Elle Magazine and other opportunities.
02:20 I've made vision boards, I've made paper cutouts
02:24 that I hang all over my room, I have sticky notes,
02:27 and I just feel like that really helped me in the long run.
02:30 My relationship with gymnastics
02:34 has definitely changed over time.
02:36 When I did elite gymnastics, that was very individual,
02:38 and it felt like my whole life,
02:40 and as time went on, I went to college,
02:42 and I realized that it's just part of my life
02:44 instead of being my whole identity,
02:46 and that's what I want younger girls to know,
02:48 is that you're more than just your sport.
02:50 What's next?
02:52 Hopefully big things.
02:54 I mean, I'm gonna go back to school,
02:55 finish my senior year of college,
02:57 and that's my last year of gymnastics ever,
02:58 so I'm gonna make it the best I can.
