00:06Really, so surreal to be looking out into this incredible room full of women

00:13Women who I've admired my entire career as an actress and look up to

00:19To look out and also see my mom my sister my best friend

00:25All women who have empowered

00:28supported and loved me I

00:31Never imagined that I'd be in a position to be in the same space with you all together. I

00:39Grew up very shy

00:43And introverted and I fell in love with acting and making movies

00:48Through the connection and intimacy that is shared in that environment

00:52Everyone coming together to create some kind of art that gets to be experienced collectively

01:00I'm so thankful to my director Sean Baker for casting me in a Nora

01:07he saw something in me that I didn't see in myself a

01:11Character so different from who I am and there was something so liberating about living in her reality

01:19To experience her fight in more ways than one

01:23her tenacity

01:25her sexuality and her deep hopefulness

01:29I've always had the instinct to be more of an observer

01:34Always more so on the outside looking in on life

01:38playing Annie

01:40Changed me not just as an actress, but as a person

01:45She taught me the value of my own voice

01:48That my opinions are important and that I have the right to take up space in my world

01:55Being honored in this room surrounded by so many spectacular woman women is an is an honor

02:01That I probably won't process till months from now, but I do want to say thank you

02:09that in times like these

02:12Where the world is so divided. It's it's important for us as women to come together

02:18To champion each other to try to feel more united and celebrate

02:24femininity in all forms
