00:00 Pints are pretty great, aren't they?
00:01 In the UK, we drink a lot of them,
00:03 enough to fill over 1,800 Olympic-sized pools a year.
00:07 Unfortunately, we've got some bad news.
00:09 It turns out to make beer,
00:10 there's a lot of emissions that are being produced.
00:13 From growing the ingredients
00:14 to the waste thrown away after, it's not great.
00:17 Down here at Gypsy Hill, we're changing that
00:19 by producing the world's first
00:21 carbon-negative beers without offsets.
00:23 You're probably sitting there thinking,
00:24 "How? Well, let us share that story."
00:26 We started by changing our supply chain,
00:28 working with Wildfarm and a network of growers.
00:31 We together have created a set
00:32 of regenerative farming standards
00:34 that means all the barley we use in these beers
00:36 sequester more CO2e than they produce.
00:39 The barley's also great for soil health
00:40 and helps sustain all those lovely little bees
00:42 that pollinate our plants.
00:43 We've also invested in our equipment and processes,
00:46 recapturing spent hops that previously be wasted.
00:49 And no, it's nothing like reusing an old teabag,
00:51 more like squeezing that last little bit out of the orange.
00:54 Trail, our Pale Ale, and Swell, our Lager
00:56 are both carbon-negative in keg
00:58 and more importantly, in your pint glass.
01:00 The best bit?
01:01 Both beers are carbon-accounted by Zubera.
01:03 So you know that your end-of-day pint
01:05 is doing a little bit better than before.
