00:00 All right, we're here in the Robert Brazeal room at the Titans facility.
00:04 Beautiful, renovated Titans facility.
00:06 You can see the Hall of Famers, Baby Blue, Oilers jersey over there.
00:10 I was at Tennessee's camp this morning, my eighth camp.
00:13 I got five takeaways.
00:14 Takeaway number one, there's no question the roster's been reset a bit under new
00:17 general manager, Ran Cartham.
00:19 But one thing that's gone nowhere is the identity with which Mike Frable has built
00:23 the program here over the last five years.
00:25 And that was apparent, at least to me, through an intense morning practice that
00:29 was filled with what they call "call it periods."
00:32 During those periods, the coordinators are calling plays against each other,
00:36 unscripted, and coaches and players are having to react to changing situations
00:41 on the fly.
00:42 Through that time, what I saw was energy, physicality, all the hallmarks of
00:47 Frable's program.
00:48 Takeaway number two, Arden Key's name came up a lot during my visit here, and
00:53 it looks like the Titans might have hit on a bargain there.
00:55 Key, of course, a couple years ago was in San Francisco with Cartham, so the
00:58 Titans had some institutional knowledge on him.
01:01 He's bringing juice and energy to the pass rush, and he's joining a group that's
01:05 got a re-energized, healthier Jeff Simmons and a couple of nice camp sleepers.
01:08 One of those guys, Jaden Peavy, a second-year player out of Texas A&M.
01:13 Looks like the Titans are gonna be all right up front on defense.
01:16 Takeaway number three, the corner situation has stabilized a bit, and a big
01:20 reason why.
01:21 Christian Fulton's been more consistent this offseason.
01:23 He was very up and down his first three years in the league.
01:26 It looks like the light might be coming on there.
01:28 The Titans also have high hopes for Roger McCreary, their second-round pick of 2022,
01:33 and they're bringing over a veteran presence in Sean Murphy Bunning from
01:36 Tampa.
01:37 He, of course, won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers.
01:39 If the corner position's all right, that'd be big news for the Titans.
01:43 Takeaway number four, if there's one position that could be an issue going
01:47 into the season and lingering into the season, it's probably the offensive line.
01:51 Andre Dillard, the former first-round pick of the Eagles, is at left tackle.
01:55 Peter Skoronsky, the first-round pick of the Titans this year,
01:58 is at left guard.
01:59 The right tackle situation is still unsettled with Nicholas Petit for air,
02:03 suspended through the early parts of the season.
02:05 And so, they still have some things to figure out there, and there could be some
02:09 problems that need to be managed early in the year.
02:11 Ultimately, how that plays out could determine where the Titans fall in the
02:15 AFC South.
02:16 Finally, takeaway number five, DeAndre Hopkins, looks like DeAndre Hopkins out
02:20 there.
02:20 We'll see if he can stay healthy, but the early signs are good.
02:23 And they're good not just on the field, but also in the meeting room.
02:26 A lot of the young players have really taken to him.
02:29 A lot of those young guys grew up watching DeAndre Hopkins, and those guys,
02:33 I'm told, have been sponges gathering information for, most notably,
02:37 the first-round pick of a year ago, Tre'Lon Burks.
02:40 That'll be it for us from Tennessee.
02:42 Next stop, Atlanta.
