00:31 according to the National Security Council or NSC, which is also the head of the National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea.
00:39 In a National Summit on the West Philippine Sea, NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya said that there is a commitment on two fronts.
00:49 There are logistical issues that are being resolved.
00:52 There are issues that are being ironed out.
00:56 But I don't think these are insurmountable.

01:03 It is important to maintain the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines, especially if there are plans for this,
01:10 according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
01:14 The new gas field is part of the national plan of action for the West Philippine Sea.
01:22 According to the studies, the West Philippine Sea is rich in energy resources such as oil and natural gas.
01:31 We would like to push for the creation of the West Philippine Sea Authority.
01:39 Accelerate the exploration, development, and utilization of energy resources in the WPS
01:47 to attain energy security of the country in the context of achieving carbon neutrality.
01:56 Example of this is we would like to have a new Malampaya.
02:01 The Malampaya gas field in the Malawan Sea is the country's largest commercial gas discovery.
02:09 Natural gas from here is used as fuel for power plants.
02:15 Clearly, the future of the Philippines is in the West Philippine Sea.
02:20 We are not pursuing the West Philippine Sea to be a sea gull
02:25 to defeat China in arbitral ruling.
02:27 We are doing this because we want the Philippines and the Filipino people to benefit from the West Philippine Sea.
02:35 At the National Summit, the allies and institutions signed the Commitment of Solidarity Wall
02:43 and promised to respect, recognize, and promote the rights of Filipinos in the West Philippine Sea.
